The purpose of this manual is to:
· describe the principles, working actions and main components of the anchor winch,
· explain the safety features and the emergency system,
· highlight possible hazards,
· describe start-up and shut down procedures of the anchor winch,
· detail operating procedures for various circumstances,
· detail maintenance,
· solve elementary anchor winch problems.

1.9 Documets conventions


In this manual the following signs are used to draw the reader’s attention to especially important
points.
Actions the operator or engineer should perform in a specific sequence are numbered:
1. Turn on the power switch.
· Bullets are used for lists of items or actions.
Soft keys or touch screen buttons are always shown between <arrow symbols>:
<Start>, <Enter>, <2>.

n Note
The note sign draws the reader’s attention to an especially important part of the text. Read this part
of the text carefully.

c Caution
The caution sign is used for procedures which, if they are not followed, might cause damage to the
equipment or to the machine as a whole.

d Warning
The warning sign is used for certain procedures or actions which, if they are not performed correctly,
could cause physical injury and/or material damage.

w Danger
The danger sign is used for actions which are not permitted. Ignoring this ban could lead to serious
material damage or physical injury.

Bold text is used for (sub)titles or for information that needs special attention: “Read these
instructions carefully”.
