1.

0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Barista Company have a new product to the consumers which is the dot.cafe a
place for stir the drink. Our company targeting in supply for this product since there is a
lot stall already being open day by day at Negeri Sembilan. Dot.cafe are a customer
friendly which is helps people saving time in handling to make the drink at home, café or
office. From our observation every stall always did not have their tools in exact place and
also unorganized. Therefore, this dot.cafe can help the consumer to make that their drink
fast and warm. Other than that, this product is easy to use and time saving as the product
is equip with battery to make sure that the product easily to use by the consumer anytime
or anywhere. Moreover, our target market for this product is based Seremban and expand
our product to the nearest district which is office, home or café whether stall at Senawang
and Paroi. We also target to any institution that might use this product, so that the student
and staff can manage the machine coffee easily and arranged at their place. In the design
process we can see that dot.cafe size is suitable for any type of place which is it can be
place at width or tiny space of area. Dot.cafe also moveable and easy to bring to
anywhere which is inside or outside of the place. With stability, strong and durability, it
also can increase the safety at the office, home or café. Furthermore, the coffee machine
also can’t easily lose, so it can save the budget of the consumer when buying this
product.. So that is brief description about our study and product concept.

2.0 INTRODUCTION
After we do a research from the internet, we find out that everyone have faced
few problems and issues when making a coffee. We found out that some place are having
leakages, coffee tastes awful, coffee grounds in a cup and late to make the coffee cold
which is can affect their taste of coffee. Even though this situation is happening, they still
can do the drink but not have a quality drink especially for coffee lover. With this
dot.cafe, we can ensure the real taste of coffee without having any issues that we stated
above. Not more too hot coffee, no more wasting time for waiting the coffee become
cold, brewing perfectly and guaranteed not have leakages. Enough employees also can
make their workplace more organized and safe for both workers and customers. Next
problem is, their workshop is too small and have a lot of tools in there. Beside repair the
motorcycles, this workshop also sell motorcycle’s spare part. Small space, a lot of tools is
not a good combination which is can lead to unorganized of the stuff and the tools. In
addition, the oil and lubricants that not well kept and messy tools at the floor can lead to
the injuries and some negatives effect. From this problems, we can say that this
workplace have a problem on organized their stuff in the store. So, we will able to solve
their main problem by creating a new product that can help them to organize their tools
and look tidy.
The method that we use is observing and through interview the owner of the store
and also the employee. The workshop that we observed addresses No 3. Lorong Baiduri
1, Kedai 24 Unit, 26400 Bandar Jengka, Pahang on Monday, 11 March 2019. From our
observation, we can see that the store is unorganized, messy and the owner also said that
the tools always missing when they want to use it. If the tools were missing, it will delay
their work. So the customer complained about the delayed of their work. The space of the
store also small, so this condition can lead to problem if they not organized their tools
well. Searching for the tools also could take sometimes and can cause delayed of the
task…..
The second method that we use is through interviewing the owner and employee
is at their workplace on Monday, 11 March 2019. The owner and employee shared their
problems regarding the unorganized tools that can lead to other serious problems such as
missing tools, delay of their work and injuries. We also interview some of their customer
which is UiTM students and find out that their complained were same with what we got
from our observation and interview session with the owner.
3.0 LIMITATION
The first limitation that we faced in order to complete this project is time. We as a
student has compact schedule and we have limit time, so we need to find the suitable time
to finish the project. Next limitation is the costing. As a student, problem regarding
money is the most common problem that student will faced. To make this product, to go
to the store, print out the information and report and others will cost a lot. The weather
also is our limitation in order to finish this project. Unpredictable weather, especially hot
situation made it difficult for us to complete this project. Expertise and skill……another
limitation…
Then, the space to build the product is another limitation. We need to find suitable
place because we need to cutting, screwing, and this entire task to finish this project need
large space in order to avoid injuries. We need to handle sharp equipment, so small space
will increase the possibility of injuries. Others limitation that we faces is lacking of
equipment and tools. This project needs lots of equipment such as cutting equipment,
rolls, magnet and board that is suitable for our project is hard to find in Jengka’s area.
The last but not least limitation that we face is the risk of injuries and danger
because we need to handle with sharp tools and heavy equipment. If the equipment and
tools is not being handling well, it may lead to hazard and injuries.
4.0 NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
4.1 Definition
Living in this new era, people are seeking for an easier and simple product
in order for them to use it wisely. The M-TOOLS is an invention of a place for
mechanics tools which is spanner set. This invention is more on saving a space
and to make sure the spanner is easy to find. The box we create is placed with
magnet which can hold the spanner in a place. The box also equipped with wheels
to make sure this box is easy move to one place to another. This box can help the
owner of workshop to arrange the equipment especially the spanner with stacked
and neat. Therefore the item is easy to find and less time-consuming so the
worker can do the work fast without any distraction.
4.2 Classification
This product that we create is a new invention as there is no product like
this before. This product never been offer in market which makes this product is a
new thing for people. This tool can be use by workshop, individual or other
institutional education that offer the course involving using this tool. We make
this product become efficient and easy to use. By creating this product we would
like to make sure that all the people that seek for using the spanner use our
product for them to keep in neat way. This product will give benefit a lot for
people especially in time-consuming.
4.3 New Product Development Process
4.3.1 Research and Development
 Idea generation
Firstly, before we decide the project that we want to do, we
already make a group discussion. There are several ideas that we
suggest before we decide to choose M-tool as our project. The idea
sparked when one of our group members told us that many
workshops have so many problems with their spanner. This is
because we can see that spanner always places on the floor in the
workshops that can make the workshops look so messy and not
clean. Moreover, the workers also face a problem to find the
spanner that they need because there are a lot of spanner on the
floor that can make their service slower.
To solve this problem, they can use spanner board that we
suggest which is M-tool that can make the workers easier to find a
spanner that they want. It also can make their service faster than
before because they already know where to take the spanner that
have been place at the box. Thus, we came out with several ideas
for the M-tool.

We prefer manual use because we would like to
avoid requiring power sources such as plugs or battery. We
would like to make the M-tool removable and can placed or
bring anywhere because usually spanner also use outside
the workshops.

We also choose to make this M-tool easily to more
which is this board have a wheel. It can make the worker
easy to move the M-tool from one place to another place
because as we know, spanner is steel that very heavy if we
have to bring it using hand. There are so many spanner will
be attach at the board magnet, because of that it very heavy.
So with the wheel below the board, it can make the M-tool
movable.

 Market Survey
Objectives:
We have steady but a reachable objective to make a brand
image for our product “M-tools” to be more extensive.
First Six month’s Objective: We are aiming at making our product
a brand toward to the all workshop and workers.
Target Market:
“M -tools” market consists of consumers that mean
workshop workers who want reasonable price, easily using, variety
in products, quality and freedom to choose the product of their
preference. We aimed our consumer based on their benefits and
using rate. We differentiated each and every possible user on their
preference of their preference to deliver the highest value.

Each of the owner of workshop wants to provide convenience to
their workers in different way or wants special benefits while using
this product to avoid from wasted more energy to settle the work.
So we targeted all types of workshop, institution and industry place
above and planned to do a differentiated marketing by lunching
different version and sizes of our product.
SEGMENTATION
 Business workshop: This tool is very effective to all the
workers at the workshop either at the car workshop,
motorcycle workshop and lorry workshop. For example, at
the Jengka’s town we estimate that there are 20 workshops
and, so I will try to promote our product to the workshop to
prove that our product is very effective to the owners and
workers about our products. It is also function to all service
center electrical appliances because it also good to keep the
tools to avoid from lost like screw and nut.
 Non- Business workshop: This product are very safe and
giving more benefits because it is cannot cause the
dangerous condition to the people because the workers or
users can keep the tools in easy way after using it. It is
because ‘M-tools’ can make the students can save their
time, their energy and very safe to use it. For example, the
population is students in institution and university that can
use this tool for who take the mechanic course, electrical
course, and automotive course. Pahang also provide more
schools and university like ABM, UiTM, POLITEKNIK,
College Community, IKM, College Vocational and
TESDEC for 2000 people in case that can use our product
and that is very effectives to all the people that using ‘M-
tools’ at workshops of university.

4.3.2 Product Design or Features


The shape of this product is rectangle which is we are using
plywood. The size of plywood for length is 5 meters, height is 4 meters
and width is 1 inch. The size is… We put 4 wheels so that it can easily
move from one place to another place. We are using simple design in
order for people use it and it is easy for them to organize it.
4.3.3 Concept Testing-
In concept testing our group will plan to use questionnaire. The
questionnaire consists of 3 parts. First part, we will explain about the
capabilities of the product. Second part, we supposed to explain about the
price, its affordable or not for usage in workshop. Third part, we explain
the design of the product, is it suit with their preference and does that
make any change to their workshop. After that, below the explanation we
will provide question about the product. Example of the questionnaire will
be providing in appendices.

4.3.4 Build Prototype (2D or 3D)

4.3.5 Test Marketing


Test marketing is the estimation how big our market can be in our
market area. In order to determine the test marketing in the area, we
already decide which place or workshop we going to test our M-tool. The
main place we target is workshop around Jengka, Jerantut and Temerloh.
There is around 50 to 60 workshop and we going to choose which
workshop are suitable to use our M-tool.
For our business, we did some research for the targeting customer.
We have classified our customer in some categories. They are workshop,
university and more. Because of limited resources and competition in our
market, we hesitant that we are able to sell our product with equal
efficiency and service to entire market. Therefore, before we decide which
market to enter, we analyses the best potential buyers to buy our product.
After we test our product which is M-tool in our target place, we going to
interview them to get a feedback how our product can help them in their
daily work. We also very positive that our M-tool product can give them
many benefit and can help the worker in the workshop around Jengka,
Jerantut and Temerloh more easy and fast to do their work.
5.0 CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, referring to the problem statement it is known that major
problem in a workshop owner is the spanner is scattered, unorganized and always
missing. The compartment for the spanner already exists in the current market however
there is still room for improvement. The main features of the M-tools are magnetic
placement and movable box. From our observation there are a few workshops and other
institution that use spanner and 80% of respondents are interested in this product. In the
design process we can see that M-tool size is suitable for any type of workshop which is
it can be place at width or tiny space of workshop. M-tool also moveable and easy to
bring to anywhere which is inside or outside of the workshop. Therefore this product can
get more benefits after we get the feedback from our customer that using our product. M-
tools also make their work become easier and save the time to solve the problem at their
workshop. We trust that our product can get more attention and have good future soon
base on the research done above.
