ISTE Standard:
ISTE 1A Students articulate and set personal learning goals,
develop strategies leveraging technology to achieve them and reflect
on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes.
ISTE 1C Students use technology to seek feedback that informs and
improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety
of ways.

Students will watch the video above as a whole group before completing the following activity.
Students will cut and paste a puzzle matching the LCM and GCF to the correct problem. Students
cut and then reassemble the 4 by 4 grid so that each problem matches the solution.

E Description
Explanatio Finding LCM and GCF is paramount to working with fractions. The following are big ideas and
n essential questions I will go over as to the importance of knowing the difference in the two.

E Description
Reducing fractions is a big struggle for students. Finding the GCF of the denominators is the key to
this problem.
Students are typically good at finding the least common multiple. Some like to make large
lists while others are able to count in their head. I would suggest that students always
begin with the larger number when finding the LCM.
The ladder method or upside-down division is very handy for finding the GCF. It helps
students to organize their work and is more efficient than prime factorization.
Explanatio Students will complete the 10-question quizizz on fraction review from the common
n misconceptions.
