EXAMPLE OF FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (TD)


It is the highest technical authority of XX, as such; it assumes that all calibration activities are
carried out in accordance with the provisions of the standard ISO/IEC 17025.
Its functions include the following:
· Technical and functional supervision.
· Programming work and deadlines.
· Approval / authorization of the specific calibration procedures.
· Validation of calibration methods.
· Development of programs of technical training and qualification of the staff.
· Signing of certificates of qualification.
· Management of equipment (inventory, records, identification, control, etc).
· Implementation of the program of calibration / verification and / maintenance of the
equipment.
· Acceptance of items that will be subject to calibration.
· Evaluation of the results of the calibrations.
· Supervision of quality control.
· Reviewing and signing of calibration reports.
· Establishment of corrective actions and preventive actions related to technical issues.
· Management and supervision of technical claims.
· Evaluation and selection of suppliers.
· Definition of the technical characteristics of equipment to buy as well as acceptance of
supplies and purchased technical services.

QUALITY DIRECTOR (QD)

As responsible of the management of the quality system, its functions are the following:
· Monitoring the implementation of the quality management system.
· Ensure the distribution, control and dissemination of the quality system documents (QM,
SOPs, INSTs, etc.) within the XX.
· Training on quality of the laboratory personnel.
· Keep and archive all documentation related to the staff.
· Manage the system of detection of non-conformities and proposal of corrective actions
and preventive actions.
· Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and preventive actions related with the
management area.
· Control and filing of records.
· Participate in the definition of non-technical features of shopping to do.
· Evaluation of suppliers.
· Establishing of the annual program of audits and management reviews.
· Organizing the internal audits and the management review meetings.
· Advice and support, from the point of view of the quality, to the technical staff.
