READINGS:
There different ways of understanding social reality. These areas of study provide us
important ideas in analyzing our society which is essential in creating productive society. Using
Anthropology , sociology and political science will give overview in mans early development.
Anthropology – is a branch of knowledge which deals with scientific study of man, his work, his
body, his behavior, and values, in time and space. It includes man’s physical, social, and cultural
development that describe the phenomenon of human life.
Sociology – scientific study of patterned hared human behavior. It analyzes human interaction
which essentials in understanding man’s cultural make up. It may focus on the attention on all
kinds of social interaction.: social arts, social relationships, social organization, social structure
and social processes.
Political Science – a systematic study of the state and its government, with the relationship of
men in the community, with the relation of men and groups to the state itself, and with the
relations of state with other sovereign states abroad. It emphasizes the use of power, interest,
influence, and diplomacy which is important in creating well-ordered society.

Analysis: Answer the following questions.


1. Discuss the relevance of politics in understanding the conditions of your society.
2. Why are sociology and politics important in understanding dynamics of society?
