Profile
Engr. Owais Manzoor is a graduate Engineer in Metallurgy & Materials, encompassing more than 6 years of experience.
He has served in upstream and downstream sector (oil & gas) in Pakistan and Middle East. Owais specializes in
microstructural characterization of materials, Lab analysis, damage assessment and corrosion failure investigations. He
has worked in both the metallurgical Lab environment and also on the field. He possesses substantial and demonstrable
Oil & Gas materials knowledge and intrinsic expertise including macro and micro examination and fractographic
analysis. He has performed several failure analysis of the in service components in Petrochemical, Power generation
and Oil and Gas sector. His interest lies in determining the root cause of the failed components with special emphasis
on their metallurgical properties. He has hands-on experience in performing innumerable site (In-situ) metallography
to evaluate nondestructively the conformity of microstructure of equipments. The ability to determine the detrimental
phases in the microstructural analysis of carbon steels, duplex stainless steels and Inconel material are his trade mark.
He has been the part of corrosion monitoring and testing team, working in the field and Laboratory. These technical
traits enable him to conduct the fitness for service studies of varied equipments.Owais is fully aware and well versed
with the latest standards relating to metallurgical evaluation, risk based inspection, fitness for service studies and
remnant life assessment. He is pro-active in nature and enjoys working in team. Moreover he has in depth knowledge
of welding procedures, inspection of weldments and related scope of work. He has been actively participating in the
Work Experience

On site testing includes replication of micro-structure of pressure vessels, storage tanks and pipes
and pipings. ( In-Situ Metallography).
The corrosion Testing includes pitting corrosion assessment under ASTM G48, G28, Inter-granular
corrosion under ASTM A262
Mol Oil & Gas B.V Corrosion Engineer (2012- 2013)
To provide the company with the appropriate remedies for both internal and external corrosion for
the company’s facilities and equipment
Monitoring and following up all existing projects, such as cathodic protection (CP), chemical
inhibitor and coating applications during monitoring companies and their contractors
Work as a focal point to set up the basic and detailed design as well as the material selection for
different facilities used in oil and gas field with focus on those related to corrosion control
engineering
Corrosion Prevention/Protection plans: Evaluation of Corrosion inhibitors (Static, NACE Rotating
Cage, NACE Bubble Tests and foaming/emulsion test). Injection of Corrosion Inhibitors at all
production wellheads at an appropriate dosage. Maintaining the desired concentration of Corrosion
Inhibitor in pipelines by residual inhibitor analyses.
Corrosion Monitoring Plan: Techniques utilized include ER probes, LPR probes, corrosion
coupons, iron count method, thickness monitoring survey. Reporting the summary of all the data
in a comprehensive Corrosion Performance Report.
Cathodic Protection Systems: PSP surveys of flowlines, tanks bottoms, underground vessels and
wellhead casings (instant-off potential surveys). DCVG Surveys and CIP surveys for determining
location of coating damage.
Non-Destructive Testing: Management and liaison with contractors for DPT, MPI, UT, and RT
