ONLINE WRITTEN EXAM INSTRUCTIONS 
   

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUSTAIN THE EXAM: 

 Identity Document or Passport 
 Unibo badge 
 Personal computer with webcam 
 Software Microsoft TEAMS installed on your computer 
 Several A4 white blank sheets 
 Stationery (pens, pencils, etc.) 
 Non‐programmable pocket calculator 
 Smartphone with an app to scan the sheets and create .pdf files (e.g. CamScanner, TapScanner, etc.) 

STUDENTS WORKPLACE: 

 You need to be alone in a quiet room. It is imperative to set up the workstation in a room where no 
one else is allowed. 
 On your desk you are only allowed to have: ID or Passport, Unibo badge, your personal computer, 
blank sheets, stationery and a non‐programmable pocket calculator. 
 Your personal computer should be positioned as shown in Figure 1, with the webcam framing you, 
the desk and the sheets on which you will write (correct framing shown in Figure 2). 
 You are allowed to use the smartphone only at the end of the exam, when the professor gives you 
time  (10  minutes)  to  take  the  pictures  of  your  papers,  create  the  .pdf  files  and  upload  them  on 
EOL.UNIBO.IT (or, only in exceptional cases, send them to stefano.silvestri@unibo.it). Therefore you 
have to leave your smartphone on the desk, visible and with the screen facing down. 
 You are not allowed to consult books, notes, slides or codes for the entire duration of the exam. 
 You are not allowed to use hearings during the exam. 
 During the exam, you should keep your eyes on the sheets and you are not allowed to move from 
your desk.

In aany case it's  faculty of th he professorr to decide, w whether to ccontinue or  not, maybe  by changingg 
onee or all questtions, ... or byy adding an oral discussion at the end ... 
 
 Thu us, the Intern net connection must be stable, a land dline connecction being p preferred. 
Pleaase block any activities w which might make the lin ne engaged (d downloads, updates etc)). 
Likeewise,  it  is  essential  too  disable  any  cloud‐synchronizing’s client  Drop pbox,  Onedrrive,  Googlee 
Bacckup  &  Sync),  with  that  being  visiblee  on  the  tasskbar’s  iconss.  It  is  also  fforbidden  to
o  deploy  anyy 
messsaging’s  cliient  (Whatssapp  web,  Telegram 
T web, 
w Twitterr,  etc,)  on  any  device  (computer,, 
smaartphone, tablet etc). 
We  suggest  keeeping  the  sm martphone  primed 
p as  hotspot,  in  order  to  havee  a  “B  plan””  should  thee 
maiin connection be lost. 
Stayying always o online is esseential in ordeer for the exxam to run offf smoothly. 
 
 Loggging off or leeaving the w workstation b before the en nd of the testt implies giviing up on it.  
Thee exam will th hus be invaliidated. 
 
 
  Thee exam will b be RECORDED D through thhe TEAMS virrtual room fo or private usee only. 
 Thee recording w will be deleteed after yourr mark has be een registereed.

 Youu should open the questions pdf file o on your screen and read them on it. 
 
 Thee duration off the exam iss 1 hour.

secttion) will be given at the e end of the 1 hour time e to everybod dy.
