CREATE INNOVATION AND FRESHNESS FOR YOUR

HOME LIGHTING
When it comes to choices in home lighting, the fluorescent lights and the table lamps can be nice
enough. But there comes a point when you know that you really want more. These basically have
been around forever. Can’t you find something innovative and fresh for how you light your home, you
wonder. If this is what you are wondering about, you’ll probably be happy to know that you have
company. If what you are looking for is home lighting that can draw on new technology, and be
imaginative and creative, you’ll be pleased to know that there is so much that the world of
unorthodox lighting options has to offer you.
FAIRY LIGHTS
Everyone loves fairy lights don’t they? They go great on the Christmas tree or strung up outside the
house when youae celebrating something. But they are scarcely something you would think of for
home lighting, now are they? You would be surprised how great they can be for certain lighting
effects in your home. And you shouldn’t be discouraged by the way they sound all effeminate. You
could use a string of fairy lights close to the ceiling, right above the molding, for a beautiful indirectly
lit effect. Strung along the floor, they give you a beautiful uplighting effect. They would go great on
curtains and other furnishings too.

FIBER OPTIC LIGHTS

Moving onto the high-tech, have you tried fiber optic lights? They’ve been around for quite a while;
for some reason though, the haven’t really caught on. Perhaps people are just intimidated by the
very term. An optic fiber is a long flexible strand of glass that transmits light from one point to
another. The strand happens to be not much thicker than a hair; and each one is able to pass a
brilliant spot of light. Everyone’s seen those flower vase-like arrangements of optic fiber strands.
They come out of a vase that is lit inside, and spread a thousand points of light all around. But that is
just decoration. You could use optic fiber lighting to great effect in a pool or to bring some
illumination to your art collection or anything you display in the living room.

LED LIGHTS
LED lights used to be pretty expensive. People only used to buy them if they had a green agenda
(LED lights save 90% on power consumption when compared to an incandescent light bulb). These
lights aren’t that expensive anymore – only about twice as much as a standard CFL. And using them
for home lighting, you can create some pretty beautiful lighting effects of every shade, shape and
pattern. LED lights bring ethereal effects to your home that at one time used to be the preserve of
the rich. You could even find light sculptures to park around your home to act as sources of light.

Home lighting isn’t just about being able to find your way around once darkness arrives anymore. It
is as much a part of your home’s decor is anything else you might care to invest in.
