Statement of the Problem

1. Does the chayote farmers have an awareness on climate change?

Null Hypothesis

Chayote farmers did not have an awareness in the adaptability of climate

change?

Alternative Hypothesis

Chayote farmers have an awareness in the adaptability of climate change?

Objectives

1. To determine does the chayote farmers have an awareness on climate

change?

2. To identify what extreme weather event have a big effect to their chayote
farm?

3. To determine does the chayote farmers adopt strategy to fight against

climate change.

Purpose of the Study

The purpose and aims of this study is the Assessment on Climate change

Adaptability of the Chayote Farmers of Zone 5B at Mat-i, Claveria Misamis Oriental

and also researchers would like to know the effects of climate change on the chayote

farmers. Further, the purpose of the study is to inform people especially farmers on

the climate change.

Significance of the Study

The study is about Assessment on the Climate change adaptability of the

Chayote Farmers of Zone 5B at Mat-i, Claveria Misamis Oriental is much

significance not only to the student but especially to the farmers. In the future this

study can help other researchers as a reference.

Scope and Limitation

The research focused to the chayote farmers of Zone 5B in Barangay Mat-I,

Claveria, Misamis Oriental. Assessment on Climate change Adaptability of Chayote

Farmers, were the only data gathered. The study was conducted among the resident

of Zone 5B at barangay Mat-, Claveria, Misamis Oriental who have chayote farm.

There were 20 respondents who have interviewed. It will be conducted within the

Summer of School Year 2019-2020.

Benefits and beneficiary:

The following are the benefits and beneficiaries of this research study:

1. Students – will be able to know the effect of the climate change to the chayote

farmers.

2. Farmers – Those farmers who are planning to have chayote farm will be aware

and will have more knowledge regarding climate change.

3. Researchers - Able to know the effects of climate change and adaptability of the

chayote farmers.

4. Community – The results of this study could awareness among people and to

help them what is climate change.

Definition of Terms

Farmer A person who cultivates land or crops or raises animals have

livestock or fish.

Agriculture. The science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing

crop, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the

preparation and marketing of the resulting products.

Climate The average cause or condition of the weather at a place

usually over a period of years as exhibited by temperature,

wind velocity, precipitation.

Adaptable Able to change or be changed in order to fit or work better in

some situation or for some purpose.

Temperature A measurement that indicates how hot or cold or measurement

in degrees showing the heat something (such as air or water).

Hypothetical Involving or based on a suggested idea or theory.

Crop A plant or plant product that is grown by farmers.

Phenomenon Something (such as an interesting fact or event) can be

observed and studied and that typically is unusual or difficult to

understand to explain fully.

Weather The state of the air and atmosphere at particular time and

place, the temperature and other outside conditions (such as

rain, cloudiness, etc.)

Manifested Easy to understand or recognize.

Infested Something harmful or unwanted, to be in over in large

numbers.

Assessment Act of making judgment about something.
