1. Anatomy of the Hair Follicles
A hair follicle anchors each hair into the skin. ... In the hair bulb, living cells divide and
grow to build the hair shaft. Blood vessels nourish the cells in the hair bulb, and deliver
hormones that modify hair growth and structure at different times of life.

2. Nail Anatomy
Anatomical terminology. A nail is a horn-like envelope covering the tips of the fingers
and toes in most primates and a few other mammals. Nails are similar to claws in other
animals. Fingernails and toenails are made of a tough protective protein called alpha-
keratin.

3. Skin Structure
Skin has three layers: The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof
barrier and creates our skin tone

4. Anatomy of the Hooves

A horse's hoof is composed of the wall, sole and frog. The wall is simply that part of the
hoof that is visible when the horse is standing. It covers the front and sides of the third

6. Anatomy of the Dermis and Epidermis

Skin has three layers: The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof
barrier and creates our skin tone. The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough
connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands. The deeper subcutaneous tissue
(hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue.

7. Sweat Glands
Sweat glands, also known as sudoriferous or sudoriparous glands, from Latin sudor,
meaning 'sweat', are small tubular structures of the skin that produce sweat. Sweat
glands are a type of exocrine gland, which are glands that produce and secrete

8. Anatomy of the Sebaceous

Sebaceous gland, small oil-producing gland present in the skin of mammals. Sebaceous glands are
usually attached to hair follicles and release a fatty substance, sebum, into the follicular duct and
thence to the surface of the skin. The glands are distributed over the entire body with the exception of
the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet; they are most abundant on the scalp and face.
