Present continuous (Ing)

We used present continuous when talk about the actions that we are making or doing
right now. To do the present continuous we used the verb “to be” and the action verb + ing.

Examples:

I am Playing You are writing

He is Reading They are running
She is cooking We are studying
It is raining
EXAMPLES:

Question form Positive form Negative form

• Am I studying ? • Yes, I am • No, I am not

• Is he working ? • yes, he is • No, he is not
• Is she cooking ? • yes, she is • No, she is not
• Is it raining? • yes, it is • No, it is not
• Are they eating ? • yes, they are • No, they are not
• Are we playing ? • yes, we are • No, we are not
• Are you reading ? • yes, you are • NO, you are not
Verb To be and present continuous
• Structure:
Subject + verb to be + action verb +ing + complement
sujeto + verbo to be + verbo de acción + complemento
Examples:

I am playing soccer
He is working hard
She is teaching Math
It is raining today
We are watching T.V.
They are praying now
you are reading the screen
