Present Simple
Verbal Sentence

S + Vs/es + O

Ex: He, She, It

I watch a movie
She goes to School
Verb adding –es (ch, sh, ss, x, o, (y))

Ex.
• Teaches
• Mixes
• Washes

• Studies
• Goes
• Etc.
Positive Sentence
I watch a movie (S + Vs/es + O)

Negative Sentence
I don’t watch a movie (S + do/does not + V + O)

Interrogative Sentence
do you watch a movie? ( do + S + V + O?)
Yes, I do
No, I don’t
Nominal Sentence

S + to be + Adj/N/Adv

Ex: Selain Verb


Is, am, are
I am a teacher
She is very kind
They are on the road
Positive Sentence
She is very kind (S + to be + Bukan Verb)

Negative Sentence
She is not very kind (S + to be + not + Bukan Verb)

Interrogative Sentence
Is she kind? ( to be + S + Bukan Verb?)
Yes, She is
No, She is not

Present Continuous
Verbal Sentence

S + to be + Ving + O

Ex:
I : am (studying ….)
They are studying English He/she/it : is (studying ….)
You/they/we : are (studying ….)
She is going to the cinema

Nb: Nominal Sentence just like in simple present tense


Positive Sentence
They are studying English (S + to be + Ving + O)

Negative Sentence
They are not studying English
(S + am/is/are not + Ving + O)

Interrogative Sentence
Are they studying English?
(am/is/are + S + Ving + O?)
Yes, I am
No, I am not
