"You kept your promise. You stayed here until your wound healed up. You didn't leave.
From now on, even if you suddenly vanish, I won't be startled. I won't feel hurt. I won't
wait for you. So don't worry about me. Goodbye."
"Se-ri...
When she was then out of the door, she can't help the tears falling from her eyes.
End of flashback.
Unbeknownst to her, the guys are planning a surprise for her at her house.
Flashback
"Men! We are on a special mission today. It's Yoon Se-Ri's birthday. Does anyone have
any idea how to make it special for her?" Jeong Hyeok asked his men.
"Wah! Since when did you know about this?" Pyo Chi Su exclaimed.
"In the dramas that I've watched, friends usually surprise the celebrant with cake,
flowers, balloons and party hats." Kim Ju Muk said.
"That's it! I'm sure she would love that." Geum Eun Dong exclaimed.
"Ok. Now our mission is to find a cake and flowers. We will surprise her tonight when
she gets home." Jeong Hyeok said.
End of flashback.
Why is it that bad things might just happen always on her birthday of all days?
Now she enters her house, all the lights are out. She tried calling out to someone,
anyone.
She then remembers the conversation between her and Jeong Hyeok the night she was
almost killed by Cho Cheol Gang.
"Then don't go anywhere until the wound heals up. Only until it heals. Just promise me
this. Once it heals, even if you disappear into the blue, I'll just accept it."
No answer.
"Did you leave?" Her voice breaking. "Did you? This soon?"
And in a heap, she broke down in a torrent of tears. Now sitting down on her carpeted
living room.
She suddenly hears a noise the halls down where the bedrooms are located. She got
scared thinking that someone got in her house.
Then right there in fron of her are the boys. Eun Dong holding a bouquet of flowers, Chi
Su with a stuffed penguin, and Man Bok carrying an old-fashioned cake, all of them also
wearing a party hat. Jeong Hyeok just stood there looking at her.
"Didn't you say this was how they celebrated?" Chi Su exclaimed while hitting Ju Meok
on the chest with the stuffed penguin.
She continued crying, still on the floor, while looking at them. She stood up and was
then walking briskly towards the door.
Chi Su and Ju Meok signaled Jeong Hyeok then to follow her out.
Se-Ri was quickly out the door, crying. She decided to calm herself down first before
going back in.
"Don't come near me. I look like a mess right now" she called back.
"I'm sorry we startled you on your birthday" Jeong Hyeok apologizes.
"That's not it. I wasn't startled. I was scared. From now on, I'll this day on my birthday.
I'll remember this good day" she cried.
"I told you not to come! I don't want you to see my face." She begged him.
He didn't stop. Instead he wrapped his arms around her shoulders from the back
reassuringly, slightly leaning his head towards hers.
" Next year, the year after that, and even the one after that, will all be good. Because I'll
be thinking about you. I'll be grateful that you were born into this world. I'll be grateful
that the person I love is still breathing. That's why your birthday will always be a good
day." He assures him lovingly.
They stayed like that for what seemed like hours but it was only a few minutes.
Eventually, Se Ri turned around sinking into Jeong Hyeok's warm embrace, Him
stroking her head lovingly.
A few minutes later, she lets go, wiping away her tears, took his hand, then looked at
Jeong Hyeok.
"Since i cried today, I won't do it again. I got vaccinated just now." She said.
They stayed like that for a while. Before they head in to join the others.
