Chapter 2

This song will be done in two individual chapters with 2 different scenes.

After she burst into tears in Jeong Hyeok's arms and the very memorable birthday
celebration with the boys, she retreated in her room and was on her laptop finishing
some work.

She then heard a faint knock on her bedroom door. Thinking that it will be just one of
the boys asking for help. She asked the person by the door to simply come in, not even
looking up from what she is doing.

When she heard the door open, and the person who came in not even speak for a
while, she looked up and saw Jeong Hyeok’s wistful eyes.

Jeong Hyeok being his usual shy and timid self, walked towards her bed, concern
lingering his eyes.

“I hope I didn’t disturb your rest.”

“You didn’t. What brings you here? What is it? Do you have something for me? Is it my
birthday present?” She quips.

“It’s a present but it’s nothing big.” He said.

“It doesn’t matter. Let me see what it is.” She started to stand and walk over him where
he stood.

“Let me tell you in advance that this isn’t a token of anything.” He rambled on while Se
Ri just looks at him. “You don’t have to give it a special meaning”

“Okay. I won’t do that.” She extends her hand

“I had to do something for your birthday when I found out about it. And I had a bit of free
time, so I bought it. Although I bought it without any thoughts. If you think it’s nothing,
you can pawn it.” He says nervously.
“Are you sweating?” She says quizzically.

“It’s hot in here.” He says while looking around the room.

“Give it to me.” Prying open his hand. “ Is this your first time giving a present to a
woman?”

She successfully pries open his hand. Seeing what’s inside, she was surprised.

“It’s a ring.” She says nonchalantly. “It should fit.”

She tried it on all her fingers on her left hand, when at last it fit on her thumb.

“It fits perfectly on my thumb.” She said smiling up at his face.

“That one is mine.” He said shyly.

“What?” she asks.

He showed his other hand, opened it and showed Se Ri, the ring that is meant for her.

“Are these couples’ rings?” She said looking at the other ring then to him.

“Is it your first time to receive a present from a man?” He answers back. “You shouldn’t
have taken it away from me. Had you waited a little, I would have put it on your finger.”

“Gosh, when you said you hadn’t dated anyone, I think you were kidding. Tell me.
Where did you learn this? Where did you learn to make a woman’s heart flutter.”

He smiled.

“Give it to me.” Getting his ring on her thumb. “Let me do it for you too.” She put the ring
on his left ring finger.

Gently holding their hands together, they look at their left hands with the rings on. He
rubbing her knuckles and the finger with the ring on it.
“Thank you. It’s the prettiest ring I have ever seen. I won’t take it off for the rest of my
life.” She said smiling through her teary face.

“I won’t mind if you do” He said.

“No matter what happens, I will remember you.” She adds.

He only smiled at that still holding her hand, tears brimming his eyes.

“I should go. So you could take your rest.” He quips.

“No it’s fine” She said.

She started going back to her bed. Jeong Hyeok simply stood there.

“Can you stay with me? Just until I fall asleep, please.” She said shyly.

“Are you sure?” He said as shyly.

She only nodded.

He slowly moved towards her bed. Keeping a distance from her, he sat down on the big
bed.

At this, she scooted over to him, snuggling closely. She then slowly drifted to sleep.

But before he had a chance to stand up and head towards the bedroom he is using with
the others, she started tossing in her sleep.

“Eomma..” She whispered.

“Please don’t leave me..”

“98..99..100”
Jeong Hyeok knowing what she is dreaming about, simply held her in his embrace.

“Shh.. it’s okay.. I’m here. I won’t leave..” He promised. She then settled down into his
warm embrace.

For that night he only left at dawn, in case the others woke up early.
