Frequently Asked Questions for Program Registration (Postgraduate students)

1) I am a non-local student, what are the procedures for the Online Program Registration?

a. Activate your ITSC account Compulsory

b. Complete the Online Registration Form Compulsory and submit once only

c. Upload the identification and visa documents:

- International Students : Passport Compulsory
- Mainland Students: Exit-Entry Permit Compulsory
(EEP/ 往来港澳通行证) If the Exit-Entry Permit (EEP) is currently not
available, you can upload your passport first
and subsequently upload your EEP when it is
available.
- Visa Label Upload when it is available
- Landing Slip Upload upon your arrival to Hong Kong

d. Upload a recent photo for Student Card Compulsory

2) I do not have a student visa label at this moment or I will not go to Hong Kong for Fall Term 2020-
21, what should I input for the question below?

If you need a student visa to study in Hong Kong, you should select “Yes” in Section II of the Online
Registration Form as below:

3) I am holding a student visa, how can I obtain the Landing Slip?

A Landing Slip will be issued when you present your student visa label for arrival clearance at Hong
Kong immigration control points. Remember to upload the landing slip to the Online Registration
System upon your arrival to Hong Kong.

4) When will be the deadline for the Online Program Registration?

New students are advised to complete the Online Program Registration within a week from the issue
date of the invitation email for Program Registration. If the visa label and landing slip are currently not
available, you can upload the visa documents later.
5) Where can I obtain the tuition information and the payment deadline?

You can login to the Student Information System (SIS) from the HKUST "myPortal" (http://my.ust.hk)
for the tuition information.

- Click on the link "Student Center", key in your ITSC account and password.
- In the "Finances" section, select "PRINT CHARGES" under "Account Summary" to view the tuition
information.

6) How can I settle the tuition?

7) I am a research postgraduate student and wish to have the tuition deducted from my Postgraduate
Studentship/ PhD fellowship, what should I do?

You should submit the “Application for Deferred Payment of Tuition Fee” via email or in person to
your Program Office for approval. The endorsed form should be returned to the Academic Registry
(progreg@ust.hk) before the commencement of Fall Term 2020-21.
