For the Questions (15-20) Each question contains Assertion and Reason. Each question has 4
choices (a),(b),(c) and (d) out of which only one is correct. So select the correct choice.
a. Assertion is True, Reason is True, Reason is a correct explanation for Assertion
b. Assertion is True, Reason is True, Reason is NOT a correct explanation for Assertion.
c. Assertion is True, Reason is False .
d. Assertion is false, Reason is True.
15. Assertion : Two electric bulbs of 50 and 100 W are given. When connected in series 50 W bulb glows
more but when connected parallel 100 W bulb glows more.
Reason : In series combination, power is directly proportional to the resistance of circuit. But in parallel
combination, power is inversely proportional to the resistance of the circuit.
17. Assertion- Person suffering from acidity advised to drink cold milk.(milk is alkaline in nature.)
Reason-The gastric juice in the stomach contains HCl gets neutralised by cold milk.
18. Assertion - Lime juice has sour test while lime water is slightly bitter.
Reason - The bitter test of lime water is due to dilution.
20. Assertion: Diffusion does not meet high energy requirements of multicellular organisms.
Reason: Diffusion is a fast process but only occurs at the surface of the body.
21. i) Obtain the expression for the heat developed in a resistor by the passage of electric current through it.
ii) Obtain the expression for the heat developed in a resistor by the passage of electric current through it.
