1. Topic 3: Anti-Terror Bill
1.a. Unit of Analysis:
a. Researcher’s Interest – Highly Satisfied. We found the topic to be
controversial, fascinating and timely, since the law has been recently
passed and people are expressing their oppositions regarding it.
b. Researcher’s Competence, Capabilities and Limitations– Highly
Satisfied. As 2nd year Political Science students, we are equipped with
the knowledge that would make us treat the topic properly and attain the
aspired goal for the research paper.
c. Researcher’s Own Resource - Highly Satisfied. We have more than
enough resources in the internet to make a solid base for the topic being
studied. And if needed for human interaction there are lots of outlets and
platforms to be used without risking going out.
d. “Researchability” of the Problem– Highly Satisfied. It’s a reasonably
new topic to discuss about with since it has only been recently passed into
being a law. The problem is researchable because it talks about a relevant
social issue that involves policies and reactions of the subjects.
e. Importance/Social Relevance– Highly Satisfied. The topic is worth
because it shows the current situation regarding the topic. It serves as an
account of the negative and positive effects of the Law.
f. Novelty/Uniqueness of the Problem– Highly Satisfied. It discusses the
rawness of the Law and its broad provisions that did not undergo thorough
readings.
g. Feasibility – Highly Satisfied. It will focus on a limited scope since the
subjects are going to be UC Political Science students only. There would
be no issues regarding their consent in participating because they are
naturally inclined into topics that involve political issues. Lastly, the
researchers will make use of the power of technology in gathering the
needed data and resources.
h. Ethical – Highly Satisfied. We are set to gather knowledge from
different corners in order to know how the law greatly affects the citizens
of the country. There is no intent to harm or attack any persons from this
research.
