Reflection:

1. The most important lesson I learned today was academic and professional writing. The academic
writing is done for academia: professors, fellow students, researchers and industry experts such
as scientist and historians. The professional writing is targeted to colleagues, business people,
managers and sometimes clients.

2. I can incorporate my previous learning from academic writing to professional learning because
we both know how to use and how to make some words using this two writing.

Should the name of our country Philippines be changed to “Maharlika”?

As a citizen of the Philippines and a Filipina, I do not agree to change the name of the Philippines
to "Maharlika". Will this change make us progress? I don't think so. Why does it need to be
replaced? The name "Philippines" is familiar to everyone, even those in other countries. I
understand that the Filipinos want to show the world that we are a free nation. You want to be free
of the shackles of our colonizers. But changing the name will not change the fact that we have been
colonized for 3 centuries. People will still remember that in history. Name will change but the quality
of life will remain the same so why not focus on more important things.

Our birth a certificate for example it states that you are a natural born Filipino, you cannot call
yourself a Filipino if you change the name to Maharlika. The name of a country established already
strong as history, the change it to “Maharlika” do not affect the growth of our country. The speaks
about we are today. It is good that they should focus on the economic growth.
