CreaLearn Curriculum
CreaLearn Curriculum is the abbreviated form of Creative Learning Curriculum.
Its development is inspired by the principles and programs presented in the Waldorf
curriculum. Under Waldorf curriculum, a kindergarten child is assumed to learn through
imitation, repetition and rhythm. Experiences and imaginative play were also integrated.
Likewise, CreaLearn Curriculum provides programs and activities for a kindergarten
child that is not only developmentally appropriate but will cater to the creative needs of
the child as well. The themes that will serve as a guide in making lesson plans for
teacher are as follows: (a) nature of the child, (b) child and the environment (c) values
formation (d) family relationship, (e) child and the country’s culture and celebrations.
The aim of this curriculum is to provide activities designed to encourage the
development of the sense of life and well-being of the child. Also, classes under this
curriculum offer free play, circle time, outside play, weekly artistic and domestic
activities and storytelling. Children are able to choose the topic they want based on their
interests and experiences and they will be guided by their teachers. There are also
activities offered which will expose the child to the nature, music and arts. Stories told
during storytelling are fairytale stories, one that will require the imagination of the child
in creating forms and ideas. The classroom is also composed of different age group so
as to diversify the activities very well and those that are older will be given extra
activities and practical responsibilities.
