I present my thoughts before you against the motion of "The continuous lockdown in India has done

irreparable damage to both students and the entire education system".

The education system in India has clearly reached a state of stagnancy with hardly any changes
introduced in the curriculum of education or innovations in the delivery methods and teaching
patterns in the past several decades. The world is facing new problems everyday and struggling to find
solutions for it and the young minds in our country are being made to learn the same mundane
concepts which the majority of us will hardly use it later in our professional or personal lives in the
future. To be able to tackle the problems of the future, atleast the methods adopted should have some
ingenuity which can enkindle some sparks of creativity amongst the young minds and imbibe in them
the much needed curiosity to explore the available technology and find within themselves the ardour
to go on a path that can help deliver some ground breaking solutions for the problems of our country
and the world in future.

The continuous lockdown has revealed the cracks in the facade of e-education and digital learning in
india and has triggered a ripple of changes that has forced the adoption of digital inclusion and
accentuated the role of technology and digital tools in the education system. In addition, the
continuous lockdown has given room for self-paced learning a skill which each individual needs in the
later stages of life after school when most of the skills have to self learnt from the ocean of knowledge
available out in the world. The lockdown has proved to be a boon by allowing students and family
members to have more family time and make up for the lost time in the hectic everyday lives of
parents as well as students, Thus improving the family ties and family values. Moreover, the scope for
peer-pressure and unwarranted and unhealthy competitiveness in the form of peer comparison is also
out of the picture in this current scenario of learning giving students a healthy and encouraging
atmosphere to learn from the comforts of their home.

Therefore, I conclude by saying that I am strongly against the motion that the continuous lockdown
has done irreparable damage to students and the education system.
