Notice Writing

Learning Objectives

Each student will be able to correctly write the format for writing a notice. 
Each student will be able to think of "W" questions to write the content of the notice.

Sample Notice 

Starter Exercise : 

1.The students will be asked to imagine that they have to tell their mothers about a sudden
plan to go for a movie. 
2. The students will then be asked to write five questions which their mothers might definitely
ask them upon learning about the plan. 

The format will be discussed by the teacher. 

Rules : 

1. A notice must be always written inside a box. 

2. The issuing authority will be written at the top. 
3. The word Notice and the sub topic has to be written below it. 
4. The date must be written on the left hand side. 
5. The language used must be formal.
6. Maximum word limit is 50 words. 
7. The person issuing the notice will sign below just after ending. 
8. The designation, if given, must be mentioned. 

A sample exercise will be shared with the students. 

Q1. Imagine that you are the headboy/ girl of ABC Public School, Rohini. Write a notice
about an art exhibition that is going to be held in your school. 

The students will be encouraged to think of questions relevant to the topic. 

Where is it going to be held?

                               Art Exhibition

This is to inform the students of class 11 that an Art exhibition is going to be organised in the
school auditorium on Saturday the 11 th of July from 9 am to 12 noon. This exhibition is
based on the topic -  Protect your Environment. Eminent artist, Ms. Anjali Kaul will be
inaugurating the event. All of you who are interested to put up your exhibits, may please
contact Mr. Sajal Patra by the 8 th of July. Everyone is welcome to visit the exhibition.

informing the residents about an urgent meeting to be held.
