Mary’s Gift
Mary Magdalene was thankful to Jesus because He helped her turn away from doing
things that were wrong and He forgave all the wrong things she had ever done. She
didn’t feel ashamed any more, and she was so much happier! She wanted to thank Jesus
for being so kind to her, so she bought Him an expensive gift, a sweet-smelling perfume
called oil of spikenard. At Simon’s house, Mary washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and
dried them with her hair. She poured the precious oil on Jesus’ head and feet as a
special gift to show her love for Him.
