Anna is an energetic and helpful
child in the family. She came
from a poor family so she
strives to help the family.
She thought of a way to help her
parents. One day, she decided
to get ice candy from Mrs.
Mameng so she can sell them
and earn.
“Mrs. Mameng, can I get ice
candy from you?” Anna asked.
“Well, yes, Anna”, replied Mrs.
Mameng.
“How much would you give
one ice candy to me?” Anna
asked. "Four pesos for one"
replied Mrs. Mameng.
She took 50 pieces of ice
candy to sell. She was
delighted because she could
imagine her profits. She can
mark up one peso or 25%
each ice candy.
“Yeheeyyyy! Sold them all.” said
Anna. She counted all her sales.
“Mother, here is 50 pesos to buy
our rice” Anna says. Her mother
happily embraced her
daughter, at the same time
saying, "Thank you very much for
helping your family." said her
mother. You’re welcome
mother! replied Anna.
“Mother, can I go with you
shopping for your merchandise.”
ask Anna. Let’s go to Night
Market, I heard you can buy
plenty of cheap items there. “Of
course child.” replied her
mother.
Anna and her mother went to
Night Market. Anna was amazed
at the large amount of cheap
products.
Anna searched for things they
could sell.
“Mother, there some umbrellas
and toys!” Anna said happily.
“Anna, how much are these?
her mother asked.
“Mother, we pay P1700.00 for
50 umbrellas instead of
P2000.00 because there is 15%
discount and P900 for 100 pcs.
instead of P1000.00 for assorted
toys with 10% discount.
Mother and daughter were very
happy to buy cheap products
because they will definitely earn
a lot.
Anna! How much do we sell
them? her mother asked.
“Mother, we will mark up 50%
every one umbrella or toy.”
“Thank you, Anna!” It is a big
help to our family when we sell
them all.” her mother said.
“You’re welcome mother”
replied Anna.
Mother and Anna sold all their
products. Then they happily
embraced.
