    FORD AOD
    HARSH 4-3 DOWNSHIFT
    COMPLAINT: Ford vehicles equipped with the AOD Transmission may exhibit a harsh 4-3 downshift,
    either on coast-down , or during throttle kickdown.

    CAUSE: The cause may be a missing Number One Checkball in the Valve Body.

    CORRECTION: Make sure that the orange colored .310“ Checkball is installed in the location, as shown in
    Figure 1.
