1.

From the Following cisco Forum download the DRIVER to any folder on your local computer and unzip it. Once you
unzip the file, you will get different folders for each kind of Win based device.

2. Double click to install the drivers for Win 7 64 bits. You will receive a warning asking to reboot immediately your pc
so the changes are applied. CLICK Reboot. (After decompressing the file in the previous step

3. From Start, right click on My computer on the right side (above of control panel). Then select Manage
4. To be safe so all the information is displayed when the COMPUTER MANAGEMENT window displays, GO to the
bottom of the left side and select the DEVICE MANAGER. Once you clicked that, go to the menu tab VIEW and select
SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES.
5. Plug the USB to Mini-USB console cable and check the PORTS (COM & LPT) option on the right side. Automatically,
your console cable is assigned to an specific COM Port (on my case it was COM10).
6. Right Click on the Cisco Serial (COMxx) connection and select UPDATE DRIVER
7. Select the 2ND OPTION = BROWSER MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE
8. SELECT THE 2ND OPTION = LET ME PICK FROM A LIST OF DEVICE DRIVERS ON MY COMPUTER
9. Select CISCO SERIAL (USB SERIAL PORT DOES NOT WORK) and click NEXT.
10. Drivers are installed successfully nothing else has to be done. You COULD PROBABLY receive a warning asking for
rebooting your computer. PROCEED with the reboot.

11. I am using SECURECRT so no particular configuration is required for this COM10 connection. See next.
