PART 2.00 - PRODUCTS:

2.01 PANEL AND CABINETS:

A. Standard panels and cabinets, as much as possible, shall be used and assembled on job.
All panels shall be of dead front construction, furnished with trims for flush or surface
mounting as required. Cabinets shall be of Code gauge steel with gutters at least 100
mm wide and wider if necessary. Enclosures shall be corrosion-resistant, galvanized
(zinc finished sheet steel). The trim for all panels shall be cold-rolled steel and finished
in industrial grey enamel (ANSI 61) over a coat of rust inhibitor. Doors shall be one
piece bolt-on front with a lockable hinged door, over the circuit breaker.

B. Panelboard for use as service disconnecting means shall conform to UL Standard.

Design shall be such that any individual breaker can be removed without disturbing
adjacent units or without loosening or removing supplemental insulation supplied as a
means of obtaining clearances. Directories shall be typed to indicate load served by
each circuit and mounted on a holder behind transparent protective covering.

C. Panels and cabinets shall be as manufactured by Square-D, Siemens, G.E., or approved

equal. Manufacturer’s shop drawings shall be submitted before manufacturing.

D. Lighting panels shall be equipped with molded-case branch air circuit breakers as
required and mains as noted on plans or panel schedule.

E. Panelboard main bus work shall be silver plated copper bus bars, ampacity rated to 10
% exceed overcurrent protective device immediately ahead of it. All bus work shall be
properly secured to withstand available short circuit forces at the location. Provide an
equipment ground bus at every panelboard rated at 33% of main bus capacity.

F. Busbar clearances for panelboards and switchgears shall meet Philippine Electrical
Code (PEC) requirements and NEMA/UL standards.

G. Lighting Panelboards shall have minimum short circuit interrupting ratings of 10,000A
sym. at 240V, unless otherwise noted.

H Main and branch circuit breakers shall be bolt-on type. Main circuit breaker
connections to panel copper bus bars shall be by bus bars. Cable connections shall not
be used.

J. All circuit breakers for single phase circuits shall have a voltage rating of 240V
(straight rated). Circuit breakers with voltage rating of 240V/120V are not acceptable.

2.02 MOLDED CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND SWITCHES:

A. Provide individual circuit breakers, safety switches and disconnect switches where
indicated on plans. Voltage ratings shall be suitable in each case of service application.
Enclosures shall be General Purpose, NEMA Type 1, except where specifically noted
on plans or assembled on panel cabinets.

All protective devices shall meet NEMA and Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc.
specifications.

B. Circuit breakers shall consist of a quick-make, quick- break type entirely trip-free
operating mechanism with contacts, ARC-interrupter, and thermal magnetic trip unit
for each pole, all enclosed in a molded-phenolic case. Circuit breaker shall be trip
indicating, with the tripped position of breaker handle midway between "ON" and
"OFF" positions. Two (2) pole circuit breaker shall be of common trip type.

C. Circuit breaker shall be as manufactured by Square D., G.E., Siemens, or approved

equal.

D. Unless otherwise specified, minimum interrupting level for 240 volts circuit breakers
shall be 10,000 amperes.

E All main circuit breakers shall be bolt-on type. Main circuit breaker connections to
panel copper bus bars shall be by bus bars. Cable connections shall not be used.

F. Branch circuit breakers shall be bolt-on type with short circuit ratings the same with the
main circuit breaker..

2.03 DISCONNECT SWITCH:

A. Disconnect means shall be provided as indicated on the drawings at motor locations.

Disconnect switch rating shall be as indicated on the plans.

B. Disconnects shall be horsepower rated, of sufficient capacity to carry the continuous

current of the load it controls and of the correct voltage rating.

C. Air circuit breakers shall be used where disconnecting means are required. Provide air
circuit breakers at each motor location where same is not within sight of respective
control starter, unless indicated otherwise on the drawings. All air circuit breakers shall
be totally enclosed.
