TITLE: INTERMEDIATE TECHNICAL ANALYST, SHAREPOINT CLASSIFICATION: INFORMATION SYSTEMS 24


JOB OVERVIEW
To plan and manage infrastructure technology solutions across multiple platforms, program areas and a
variety of systems environments, including configuration, installation and integration services. This often
involves coordinating large-scale technology implementation projects impacting multiple business area.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Required:
• Maintains relationship with clients through a thorough understanding of their business goals and
processes and advises on innovative and cost effective use of information technology.
• Develops technical service standards, and configuration standards, and the detailed design of
implementation plans to ensure solutions are technically accurate and meet government
requirements.
• Plans and leads projects related to the design, development and implementation of new and/or
enhanced technical infrastructure models, including determination of resource requirements and
directing work of project teams.
• Investigates emerging technology to determine potential implications and benefits, and recommends
approaches for integrating that technology into the infrastructure, including identifying standard
functions, developing a set of procedures to perform those functions, and documenting their use.
• Develops and documents standards for tools used in development, maintenance, and support of
custom applications.
• Provides cost-benefit analysis, technical expertise and recommendations to management for budget
development, operations and major procurement issues.
• Oversees test bed for workplace lifecycle management and line of business application activities.
• Researches and develops business cases considering technological alternatives for current and future
technologies, risk assessment, cost benefit analyses, revenue, policy and operational implications.
• Tracks and communicates the status of multiple projects, key issues and schedules; provides decisive
information on cost-effective and efficient solutions to operational challenges.
• Plans, monitors and tests disaster recovery, security and business continuation procedures and serves
as one of the key points of contact in the event of an operational emergency.
• Develops a variety of written communications such as Project Charters, technical training manuals,
business strategy reports/proposals and development of submissions to Executive to secure project
approval and funding.

• Participates on cross-government and internal committees to ensure a consistent and coordinated
approach to infrastructure and operational issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field, or minimum 2 years of a
combination of education, training and experience. Preference may be given to applicants with 3
or more years of experience.
• Experience with IIS, SQL 2013/2016/2019, SharePoint 2013/2016/Online and/or Windows Server
2010 or later. Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more years work experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, testing, implementing software and/or hardware solutions with
Microsoft infrastructure technology. Preference may be given to applicants with 2 or more years
working experience.
• Experience in investigating and researching troubleshooting problems and providing solutions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies specifically SharePoint 2013/2016 or
SharePoint Online.
• Knowledge of Web Services.
• Knowledge with all phases of change management.
• Ability to work under pressure, within strict timeframes and meet deadlines.
• Ability to supervise and lead multiple project teams.

• This position may be required to work on call and/or overtime.
• Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a
criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security
