Agriculture Sector

1. For the uplift of Agriculture , how much funds have been earmarked in ADP 2020-21?
An amount of Rs. 7,750 million have been allocated for Agriculture in ADO 2020-21
2. For Southern Punjab how many schemes are being executed and how much allocation provided?
In the 2020-21, 09 schemes with allocation of Rs. 412 million will be implemented in
Southern Punjab
3. How much allocation has been provided for Agricultural Research?
Funds to the tune of Rs. 440 million have been provide in 2020-21 to promote the Agri
research activities
4. How has the Annual Development plan focus on the Locust threat?
Locust has been one of the biggest challenges of the Agriculture sector. There are two
schemes which have been proposed in the ADP specifically for the barani areas and
desert areas. The Cholistan Development authority and ABAD have proposed these
schemes to the tune of Rs. 412 and 100 million respectively to augment Agriculture
extension department of Agriculture Department to fight locust threat.
5. What regional development alignment formula has devised out in allocation of public
investments?
ADP 20-21 has given due consideration to the regional alignment and all the schemes
are aligned with the Punjab Spatial Strategy, 2017-47. The new schemes envisage
“Transforming the Indus basin with climate resilient agriculture and climate-smart water
management” with the funding of FAO to address the indus basin areas. Also an
Integrated Plan for Agriculture Development in Tehsil Koh-e- Sulman, Dera Ghazi Khan
has been proposed with a cost of 185 million promoting high value agriculture through
high efficiency irrigation system. In addition, the horizontal land development in south
Punjab scheme has been retained with a cost of Rs. 2 billion for the purchase of
bulldozers to carry out these activities.
6. How many schemes have been proposed for small farmers?
Small farmers have been given due importance, the agriculture e-credit is for the small
farmers and Rs. 4 billion have been allocated in this regard.
7. How the proposed schemes are going to increase the agriculture productivity for the sector?
A number of schemes have been proposed to increase the productivity fo the
agriculture sector specifically addressing the high value agriculture. 12% of the
Agriculture ADP has been reserved for the high value agriculture.
8. How is COVID going to impact the agriculture productivity this year?
COVID is going to severely impact the agriculture sector and it is estimated that it may
cause 2-7% reduction in the next year Agriculture GDP.
WATER & SANITATION

1. What is the budget set for Water & Sanitation Sector in FY 2020-21?
Rs. 11.86 billion have been allocated for the FY 2020-21 for 1,348 schemes of Water
Supply & Sanitation.
2. How much funds have been allocated for South Punjabb
Rs. 3.68 billion have been allocated for Water & Sanitation in south Punjab for 365
schemes, which is 31% of the total budget of the sector.
3. What amount has been allocated for Water & Sanitation services separately?
For the year 2020-21 for Water Supply Rs. 4.96 billion whereas for Sanitation Rs. 6.90
billion have been allocated for 352 and 996 schemes respectively
4. What measures have been taken for provision of clean drinking water in Punjab and
what amount has been allocated for the purpose?
Government of the Punjab has established “Punjab Abe-Pak Authority” for provision of
clean drinking water in the province. In the FY 2020-21 Rs. 2.500 billion have been
allocated for the said authority to provide clean/safe drinking water in brackish areas in
Punjab, especially in South Punjab.
5. What are the major projects included under the Punjab Aab-E-Pak Authority?
Following projects are included under the Punjab Aab-E-Pak Authority.
 Installation of 820 water filtration plants.
 Provision of 700 Nos. direct Supply to Markaz-e-Aab in the districts.
 Installation of surface Treatment Plants, 01 No. in Okara
 Conventional Treatment, 01 No in Faisalabad.
6. How much funds have been allocated for Rural & Urban Areas in Water Supply &
Sanitation services separately and how many schemes have been proposed for these
areas?
In the FY 2020-21 for urban areas Rs. 3.62 billion whereas for rural areas Rs. 8.24 billion
have been allocated for 255 and 1093 schemes respectively.

Auqaf & Religious Affairs
1. How much budget is allocated to Auqaf in ADP 2020-21?
The total allocation for this sector for the fiscal year 2020-21 has been fixed to Rs. 170
million.

2. How many schemes are there?


There are 20 on-going and 01 new schemes. The major focus will be on completion of
schemes namely:

i. Up gradation and Development of the Shrine Bibi Pak Daman, Lahore, (Cost: Rs.127
million) ,
ii. Automated Collection of Donations at Shrines of Auqaf Department (Cost: Rs. 10.124

HUMAN RIGHTS & MINORITY AFFAIRS
1. How much allocation is for Human Rights and Minority Affairs in ADP
2020-21?
For ADP 2020-21, Rs. 500 million has been allocated for HR & MA sector.

There are 04 on going and 02 new schemes are included in ADP 2020-21

3. What steps Government has taken to uplift the minorities


Minorities are equal citizen of Pakistan. Government has taken several steps to up lift
the minorities. In last year not only Thirty Four (34) Minority Development Schemes at
cost of Rs. 401 million were completed but also Socio-economic support for minorities
through special grant with the total cost of Rs.100 million were utilized.

4. Has any step for interfaith harmony been taken?


Last year Government has spent Rs 10 million under scheme” Awareness of human
rights and interfaith harmony”

5. Is there any scheme for minority students?


Two schemes Educational Scholarships for the Minority Students with allocation of Rs.
25 million and Financial Assistance to Deserving Minority Students through PEEF with
allocation of Rs.25.000 million are included in ADP 2020.21. These schemes have
benefitted students in last year as well.

6. How much amount is allocated for improvement / renovation of religious places of


minorities?
Government has focused on minorities religious places which can also tends to increase
religious tourism. So an amount of Rs 92.819 million has been allocated for
improvement and renovation of religious places of minorities to promote religious
tourism.

7. What steps have been taken for minority localities?


A scheme titled Development of Model Localities of Minorities with total allocation of
Rs. 178 million has included for infrastructure development and other basic facilities for
minority localities. Minority Development Fund (MDF), with an allocation of Rs.100
million is special scheme for minorities under this scheme the amount is spent on the
demand of minority representatives. These schemes will improve the residential areas
of minorities and their places of worship. The residents will get benefitted in the fields of
improved civic facilities, better health facilities, improved hygiene conditions, advanced
communication facilities and cleaner environment purified of all pollution hazards.
LABOUR & HUMAN RESOURCE SECTOR
1. How much budget is allocated to Labour & Human Resource Sector in ADP 2020-21?
Rs.150 million has been allocated for development schemes of Labour & HR sector for
ADP 2020-21.

2. How many schemes are included in ADP2020-21?


There are 04 on going and 02 new schemes are included in ADP 2020-21.

3. What steps Government has taken for informal workers who are in most vulnerable
condition after COVID-19?
COVID-19 pandemic outbreak unemployed a huge number of informal sector workers.
However, during the pandemic the non-availability of data of informal sector workers
was noted seriously. To address this burning issue, a scheme namely ‘Establishment of
Workers Repository Cell’ to register non-formal workers and to reach these poor people
in any disaster was included in ADP 2020-21.

4. How to control unemployment and underemployment?


Unemployment and underemployment are major issues of the country. One of the key
factors was that there was gap between employer and employee. To link the employer
and job seeker a scheme has been introduced. A new scheme titled ‘Establishment of
Job Centres in Punjab’ for the provision of a platform for employment opportunities to
the human capital of Punjab and to create linkages between the job seekers and
employers locally, nationally and internationally were also included in ADP 2020-21
Transport Sector
1. What is Department / Sector wise Allocation of Transport Sector in Development
Programme 2020-21?
The total ADP 2020-21 size of Transport Sector is Rs. 42332 million.

2. How many schemes are included in Development Programme 2020-21?


Total 13 No. schemes have been included in Development Program 2020-21 and due
to paucity of funds and health emergency no new scheme could be included in
Transport Sector.

3. How much allocation is provided for Foreign Aided Projects?


Rs.40,800.000 million has been provided to Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project
in ADP 2020-21 under Transport Sector.

Following achievements have been made during 2019-20:
• Test Run of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train.
• Substantial Completion of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project.
• Out of 39 VICS Stations, Twenty Seven (27) VICS stations have been made
operational.

6. What are the targets fixed in Transport Sector for 2020-21?


Targets fixed for 2020-21 include:-
• Completion of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project.
• Establishment of 9 permanent Weigh Stations.
• Acquisition of land for remaining 12 no. VICS Stations in the Punjab,
Procurement, Installation and Maintenance of Weighting Equipment and Operations

Public Buildings

1. How many funds are provided to Public Buildings sector in ADP 2020-21?
An amount of Rs. 9,734 million including Rs. 1,834 million foreign assistance from
the World Bank is allocated to this sector in ADP 2020-21.
2. How many funds are provided to ongoing schemes and new schemes included in
ADP 20-21?
An amount of Rs. 8,417 million is allocated for 158 ongoing schemes and Rs.1317
million for 53 new schemes included in ADP 2020-21.
3. How many schemes will be completed in financial year 2020-21 ?
Around 172 schemes will be completed in the financial year 2020-21 including 158
on-going schemes and 14 new schemes.

4. What steps have been made in ADP 2020-21 to reduce overcrowding in the
existing Jails?
Following new schemes are included in ADP 2020-21 to reduce pressure on existing
Jails:
i. Construction of Additional Multi-storied barracks in all Jails of Punjab to
accommodate 10,000 prisoners at a cost of Rs. 250 million,
ii. Construction of District Jail, Nankana Sahib, costing Rs. 500 million.

5. What reforms have been proposed for rehabilitation of inmates in ADP 2020-21 ?
Following new schemes are proposed for rehabilitation of inmates:
i. Construction of 20 Bedded Unit for the Treatment of Drug Addicts in Punjab Jails
(one at Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur etc) at a cost of Rs 300 million,
ii. Construction of Directorate General of Reclamation and Probation (R&P),
Punjab, Lahore, at cost of Rs. 120 million for reclamation of inmates,
iii. Construction of Washrooms / Toilets and Laundry Block in all Barracks of High
Density Jails of Punjab, at a cost of Rs 100 million

at a cost of Rs 300 million
7. What is the comprehensive plan for rehabilitation of destitute and neglected
children in ADP 2020-21?
A comprehensive scheme namely ‘ Construction of Child Protection Units phase-I at
Muzaffargarh, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Chakwal, Jehulum, Vehari, Mianwali, Bhakhar,
Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Jhang ’ is included in ADP 20-21 at a cost of Rs. 275
million.

8. What is the comprehensive plan to address shortage of Minister’s residences at


Provincial Capital ?
A comprehensive scheme namely ‘Construction of MPA Hostel Phase-II, Lahore’ is
included in ADP 20-21 at a cost of Rs 3,440 million.
Regional Planning
1. What is the budget set for Regional Planning in FY 2020-21?
The budget set for Regional Planning in the FY 2020-21 is Rs.29,153 million including
54% for South Punjab.
2. How much money has been allocated for the development of Cholistan?
Rs.600 million have been allocated for water supply and road schemes of Cholistan.
3. What amount has been earmarked for the development of the Barani tract?
For water resource and agriculture development in the Barani areas of Punjab, Rs.500
million have been earmarked in FY 2020-21.
4. What is the amount set aside to control the locust attack in Punjab?
Rs.150 million have been set aside in FY 2020-21 to curtail the damage caused by the
locust attack in Cholistan and the Barani areas.
5. Would any steps be taken to improve the road infrastructure of the tribal area?
Yes, Rs.325 million have been earmarked for infrastructure development and livelihood
enhancement of D.G Khan and Rajanpur.
6. What relief would be provided to the inhabitants of Southern Punjab?
Rs.2,200 have been allocated for 250 Community Physical Infrastructure schemes,
10,000 small ruminants (02 goat packages), 900 small plots and 900 low cost housing
units to be constructed for livelihood enhancement under Southern Punjab Poverty
Alleviation Project (SPPAP) in ten districts of South Punjab including Bahawalnagar,
Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim yar Khan, DG Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar,
Mianwali and Khushab.
7. Are there any initiatives being taken to uplift religious tourism in Punjab?
Under the Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth Project (PTEGP) approximately
Rs.2,000 million have been allocated to promote religious tourism. The number of
visitors to the targeted sites is expected to enhance by 100,000 in FY 2020-21 while
generating employment for 10000 people (including 2000 females).
8. Will there be any pro-women initiatives taken in FY 2020-21?
Yes, more than Rs.1,000 million have been budgeted for the Women’s Income
Generation and Self-Reliance (WINGS) Project which will be initiated this year for
improving the livelihood of the extremely poor women in Vehari, Chiniot, Sargodha,
Pakpattan, Khanewal, Okara, Multan, Sheikhupura and Rawalpindi.
9. What measures will be taken to facilitate the poor people in the province?
More than Rs.5,000 million have been set aside for the Punjab Human Capital
Investment Project which is to be launched in FY 2020-21 in order to increase the access
to quality health services, economic and social inclusion of the poor and vulnerable
households in Punjab.
Governance and IT
1. How much funds have been allocated for encouraging innovation and
entrepreneurship in the local community of Punjab?
Rs.106 million have been allocated for the projects titled, Regional Plan 9 and e-
Earn, Co-Working Space across Punjab to encourage innovation and
entrepreneurialism amongst young graduates by successfully incubating startups
and helping them turn into structured businesses which support employment and
innovation in the local industry.
2. How much funds have been allocated under Governance & IT Sector in ADP 2020-21?
Funds amounting Rs. 2,400 million have been allocated for schemes falling under

4. Is there any initiative taken for provision of facilities to the general public?
Rs. 465 million has been allocated for the project titled, Land Record Services at
Qanongoe Level against which 115 Nos. Arazi Record Centres will be established all
over Punjab.
5. Initiatives taken for better coordination among departments w.r.t strengthening in
planning and decision making for timely action plans and policy making in Punjab?
Rs.112 million has been allocated for the project titled, Space Technology
Application in Socio-Economic Development Progress aimed for developing of
following mechanism:
i. Centralized platform for data management, visualization and sharing with
department through user based logins;
ii. One time high resolution satellite image purchase and provision to all
government bodies;
iii. Revenue boundaries dashboard up to Mouza Level of 36 districts of Punjab –
visualization portal with mouza directory, geo-mussavies, satellite images and
boundaries;
iv. Crop mapping and yield estimation;
v. Satellite imagery with base layers of Punjab to facilitate above mentioned
Government departments on data visualization and querying with customized
fast map making tools;
vi. Development of Environmental data sets and monitoring (satellite based
monitoring);
vii. Trainings and Capacity Building of Forest Department, Agriculture Department,
Punjab Social Protection Authority, Planning & Development Board, PITB, EPA,

Foreign Assistance Portfolio
1. What are the estimates of Foreign Assistance for the fiscal year 2020-21
The expected foreign assistance for the year 2020-21 is Rs 132 billion* ($802 million).
Out of this estimate, Rs 88 billion ($532 million) and Rs 44 billion ($270 million) will be
contributed in Project and Program mode respectively. In addition to this, the estimated
contribution from the donor in the form of Grants will be Rs 4 billion ($ 26 million)
*Note: Exchange Rate for FY 2020-21 ($1=Rs165)
2. What is the share of Foreign Assistance for Ongoing & New/Pipeline Projects?
Foreign assistance for on-going projects for next Fiscal Year is expected to be Rs 117.9
billion ($715.12 million), out of which Rs 3.07 billion ($18.65 million) will be grants.
Foreign assistance for new/pipeline projects for next Fiscal Year is expected to be Rs.
18.6 billion ($112.885 million), out of which Rs 1.1 billion ($6.667 million) will be grants.
New/Pipeline Projects which have already been signed are amounting Rs 7.94 billion
($48.178 million) whereas agreements amounting Rs 10.67 billion ($64.67 million) are
expected to be signed in the next fiscal year.

5. What is the disbursement against Budgeted Estimates for Fiscal Year 2019-20?
Original Targets of disbursement for current FY 2019-20 was fixed at $445 million which
was revised at $486 million. Disbursement against the Revised Target during the month
of May 2020 was $316 million which is 65%. Remaining target is expected to be fully
achieved by the end of current financial year in-spite of COVID emergency.
Industry
1. What actions have been taken for Youth Employment Generation?
Government of Punjab has initiated a mega project titled “Punjab Rozgar”
costing Rs.9500 million. The scheme will inject Rs.9500 million in SME Sector as
Mark-up/Loan Guarantee which will have multiplier effect to the tune of Rs. 30
billion investment in the economy in order to support 18208 approx. SMEs with
expected employment generation of 45917 No. in 5 years.

2. What actions have been taken for promotion of Small Medium Enterprises?
Considering the importance of SMEs the Government of Punjab has initiated
scheme titled “Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Support Programme” in order
to bolster the SME sector in Punjab. In this regard, Rs. 500 million has been
allocated.

3. What actions have been taken for provision of Technical & Vocational training
to the Youth?
Government of Punjab has initiated “Hunarmand Nojawan” programme with a
total cost of Rs.1500 million during 2019-20, already Rs.500 million has been
spent while Rs. 400 million have been allocated during 2020-21 for this
programme in order to bolster Skill Sector in Punjab. It will increase the training
facility of TEVTA institutions from 90,000 to 150,000 per annum by introducing
2nd shift under Hunarmand Nojawan program. Further under Other
Development Programmes (ODP) additional Rs.400 million has been Provided to
Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and Rs. 400
million to Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) respectively for provision of
Technical and Vocational Education during 2020-21.

4. What actions have been taken for promotion of Industrial Estates in South
Punjab?
The Government of Punjab intends to develop infrastructure of Bahawalpur
Industrial Estate through PIEDMC on 483 acres with estimated cost of Rs.5,800
million. In this regard already Rs.250 Million were provided whereas additional
an amount of Rs. 100.00 million has been allocated during 2020-21 to further
develop the industrial estate.

5. What actions have been taken for promotion of Artisan Industry?


Rs. 50 million have been allocated for Establishment of Artisan Village at Taunsa
Sharif with total cost of Rs.141.277 million. Further Handicraft Development
Centre at Taunsa Sharif is being Up-graded with a total cost of Rs.10 million.

6. What actions have been taken for Consumers Protection?


A scheme for Automation of Directorate of Consumer Protection Council and its
Field Offices have been launched with total cost of Rs. 86.862 million for which
already Rs.22.274 million have been spent while Rs.22.000 million has been
provided during 2020-21.

7. What actions have been taken for facilitation in Starting Business?


A scheme namely “Improvement to the Arrangements for starting a Business
was started at Lahore under Phase-I. Now under Phase-II with cost of Rs.55
million it is being expanded to cover whole province (in 36 Districts).

8. What actions have been taken for Women Entrepreneurship?


A scheme namely “Establishment of Women Resource Center and Incubators”
with cost of Rs.23.729 million has been approved to provide a platform for
Females who are interested in business.
Mines & Minerals
1. What is the total allocation for Mines & Minerals Sector in ADP 2020-21?
The total allocation for Mines & Minerals Sector for FY 2020-21 is Rs. 1550 million.

2. How much funds have been allocated for ongoing projects?


Rs. 148.120 million have been allocated for six (6) ongoing projects. These projects are
fully funded for completion during FY 2020-21.

3. How much funds have been allocated for new projects?


Rs. 101.880 million have been allocated for four (4) projects. One of these projects is
fully funded for completion during FY 2020-21.

4. How much funds have been allocated for Punjab Mineral Company?
Rs. 1300 million have been allocated to Punjab Mineral Company in the development
Budget of FY 2020-21.

5. How much funds have been allocated in development budget of FY 2020-21 to


promote mineral exploration and through it private sector investment, and
employment generation?
In total Rs. 1340 million have been allocated in the budget of FY 2020-21 to promote
mineral exploration and through this promote private sector investment, generate
employment and create economic stimulus. Out of this Rs 1340 million, Rs. 40 million
have been allocated for Potential Evaluation of Placer Gold in River Indus at District
Attock. Furthermore, Rs. 1300 million have been allocated to Punjab Mineral Company
(PMC) which is working on strategic project of exploration of metallic minerals in
Punjab.

6. Availability of skilled human resource is necessary for any sector of the economy to
prosper. What is being done for creation / provision of skilled human resource to the
Mining Sector?
Funds amounting to Rs 33.499 million have been allocated for projects which focus on
formation of human capital / provision of skilled human resource to the mining sector.
Full funding of Rs 16.619 million have been made in FY 2020-21 to Project titled
Upgradation of Punjab School of Mines, Katas Tehsil Choa Saiden Shah, District Chakwal.
Moreover, Rs 16.880 million have been allocated for Rehabilitation of Mine Survey
Institute, Makerwal, District Mianwali.

7. What is being done to provide rescue services to the Miners?


Funds worth of Rs. 57.674 million have been allocated in FY 2020-21 for projects which
focus on provision of rescue services to the Miners. Rs 42.674 million (full funding) have
been allocated in FY 2020-21 for completion of Project titled Establishment of Rescue
Squad at Pull 111 District Sargodha. Moreover, Rs 15 million have been allocated for
Rehabilitation of Mines Rescue & Safety Station, Khushab.

8. Is there any funding made for any project for improvement of governance?
Yes, Rs. 30 million have been allocated in FY 2020-21 for Strengthening and Digitization
of Working of Inspectorate of Mines, Punjab, Lahore.

9. Are there any projects related to provision of infrastructure to the Mining sector in
development budget of FY 2020-21? How much funds have been allocated for this
purpose?
Yes, Rs 29.317 million have been allocated in FY 2020-21 for completion of two
infrastructure related projects titled Construction of Office Building and Residence for
Deputy Director Mines & Minerals, Khushab and Construction of Office and Residences
for the Deputy Director Mines & Minerals, Mianwali. The completion of projects will
provide the much needed infrastructure to the mining sector in these mining districts
and hence will help to promote mining activity in the area.

10. How much funds have been allocated in development budget of FY 2020-21 for
forecasting and prevention of mining accidents and hence reposing miner’s confidence
in mining sector?
Rs. 59.51 million have been allocated in FY 2020-21 for completion of two projects titled
Strengthening of Mine Sample Testing Laboratory, Khushab (Rs 8.647 million) and
Provision of Equipment for Inspection Regime (Rs 50.863 million). These projects are for
forecasting and prevention of mining accidents.

Small farmers have been given due importance, Enhancing Beef production is for the

Several schemes have been proposed to increase the network of veterinary services
in Punjab and more specifically in South Punjab (DG Khan, Rajanpur, Vehari and
Multan). It is important to mention here that 34% of the ADP allocation of Livestock
has been reserved for this purpose.
4. How is COVID going to impact the livestock sector?
The fall in consumption of milk and meat has affected 110 million farmers, directly
or indirectly associated with the production and delivery of livestock milk and meat.

5. Are there any schemes introduced for productivity enhancement of non-descript


cattle?
L&DD Department has planned to procure 1,21,790 Semen Doses of superior quality
(Holstein Friesian & Jersey Breeds)

6. What contribution livestock can make during COVID 19


Livestock department can ensure provision of employment, provision milk and meat
and nutrition to the masses. Moreover, it can held in arresting spread of zoonotic
diseases. It can provide quarantine facility for the people in the under construction
building under different projects.

7. How the ADP is aligned with RISE Framework


L&DD has tried to ensure maximum alignment with the RISE Framework by smartly
making allocations to the different projects. Moreover, it has also planned to control
the spread of zoonotic diseases and target the pillar of food security of the RISE.

Forest
1. How has Annual Development has helped to assess forest cover in Punjab?
Forest Department has recently completed a scheme titled “Development of GIS based
Forest Management System in Punjab” in which Forest Cover Assessment & mapping on
7,90,557 Acres have been carried out. Moreover, FWF Department has also proposed
Rs. 11.00 million in ADP 2020-21 under development scheme “Monitoring of Urban and
Peri-Urban Forest Policy” for developing Baseline Data and Android application,
Development of Web GIS Based Monitoring Dashboard and Monitoring, Evaluation and
Reporting Dashboard in Forest Department.
2. What are the achievements (plantation) under Prime Minister’s Ten Billion Tree
Tsunami Program?
Under TBTTP, following have been achieved in 2019-20:

• 1172 Acres (Private Land)

3. Fisheries Department has launched Shrimp Farming & Cage Culture Projects under PM
Package? What is current status of these projects?
Application process for Disbursement of Subsidy under Shrimp Farming on 1250 Acres has
been completed. Subsidy would be disbursed to successful farmers during FY 2020-21.
In Cage Culture Project, 500 Cages allotted to farmers after Qura Andazi and
Manufacturing of cages started. Furthermore, salinity of land is under verification by
Department of Fisheries
4. How the proposed schemes are going to increase and employment opportunities in Punjab
The proposed ADP schemes of FWF Department would be helpful in:
• Creation of employment for local people on sustainable basis
• Production of Timber & Firewood.

5. How is COVID going to impact the forest sector?


Due to COVID-19 pandemic, FWF has allocated funds is for maintenance of plants during 2020-21.

6. Are there any schemes introduced for Zoo & Park?


Wildlife Department has proposed two schemes:
• Up-gradation & improvement of Bahawalpur Zoo, Bahawalpur with an allocation
of Rs. 47 million during 2020-21
• Improvement / Rehabilitation of Wildlife Park Rahim Yar Khan with an allocation
of Rs. 18 million during FY 2020-21.
