CMMI
Compatibility Maturity Model integration (CMMI) is the comprehensive process model that
describes the specific goals, practices and capability that should be present in a mature software
process.

CMMI levels describes if an organization follow CMMI, then at which level they are following CMMI.

CMMI Levels
1) Initial
Those organization that follow initial level usually suffer many problems; they did not have any
defined process. They do not use the advance methods to support their process. They often fail
to produce good quality product within a budget.

2) Repeatable
In this level organization have defined standards for the management, they use advance
methods and tool to produce a good quality product (final product).

3) Defined
In this level organization have defined processes and models based on the best practices and
techniques. They have active process improvement program

4) Managed
All characteristics of level 3(Defined) have been achieved in Managed level and the process area
is controlled and improved using the measurement and quantitative assessment.

5) Optimized
All characteristics of level 4(Managed) have been achieved in Optimized level and the process
area is adapted and optimized using the quantitative measurement to improve the efficiency.
