Course Title : Monetary Policy and Central Banking
Credit : 3 units (non - laboratory)
Prerequisite : FM 1

Subject Description : This course tackles various topics about Central Banking and Monetary Policy such as money inflation,interest rates and output,intermediation and
the financial system,financial instruments,markets and institutions,interest rates and term structure,monetary theories and policies,ideas and results.

Course Outcome:
- Develop students who are capable of analyzing the challenges faced by the economy with regard to money inflation,interest rates,monetary theories and policies to become
more competitive in dealing with changes.
- Empower students to evaluate the changes and challenges encountered by the Central Bank,Financial System,and Institutions and how these could affect the economy
- Exercise ability to communicate especially in dealing transactions with financial intermediaries and people
- Produce students with high interpersonal skills in dealing with the various financial markets and institutions to constantly create a good working relationship
- Train students to participate actively in the programs and advocacies of the Central Bank and Financial Institutions in carrying out its objectives

Note: To get the Percentage: Score ÷ No. of items x 50+50 = Percentage
Passing Grade is 75%
Classrom Policies 1. The class starts and ends with a prayer to be led by assigned student. It is expected that assigned student prepares short personal prayer for the class;
2. Student should attend class regularly at the prescribed time. Policy on attendance should be followed;
3. Active participation in the discussion and other works assigned to the class;
4. Students should attend class ready for exams, reports, assignments and projects;
5. Students can use their cellphone and gadgets for academic purposes only;
6. Take examination on scheduled dates, special examination are only given to students who can present excused letter signed by their parents and with valid
reasons (hospitalize, death of immediate family member, illnesses supported by medical certificate, church related activity with excuse letter)

Academic Dishonesty:
Honesty is expected from the students, Unethical behaviors (immorality, lying, undesirable actuation) are discouraged. Any student caught cheating during examinations

Policies on Absences:
Students are only allowed 10 absences for classes of three hours (MWF), while 7 absences for TTh classes. Students are asked to present an excuse letter before he/she

tardiness and absences which can be a reason for a grade of “FA. It is also responsibility of the student to consult his/her teacher, academic coordinator or the Dean for
