MODIFIED COURSE SYLLABUS

COURSE: Legal Counseling and Social Responsibility

COURSE DESCRIPTION: An introduction to the art and technique of legal counseling


as well as consideration of the responsibilities of the lawyer as a counselor.

UNITS: 2 units

INSTRUCTOR: Atty. Ma. Edelyn A. Zaragoza-Ventura

SEMESTER: 1st Semester AY 2020-2021

SCHEDULE: August 24 to September 5, 2020

METHODOLOGY:
 case-analysis/digests;
 legal writing;
 individual/group reports and presentations;
 class discussion/recitations;
 quizzes;
 virtual visits (e.g. court, law offices)
 practical class exercises

COURSE OUTLINE & MATERIALS: The primary course materials will consist of Code of
Professional Responsibility, relevant provisions of the Rules of Court, and Supreme
Court jurisprudence and issuances as well as any reference on Legal Counseling, Legal
Writing and Legal Research.

The following lectures will be given via zoom1. Zoom invite to follow. Recording is
NOT allowed. Taking of Pictures/Screenshots is NOT allowed. Questions may be
asked at any point of the lecture using the ‘raise hand’ function.
