ACADEMICS - ENGINEERING SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
Department of Civil Engineering
B.Sc Civil Engineering
APCOMS was established in 1999 to provide professional
education in the field of Management Sciences &
Engineering Sciences. Civil Engineering programme after
PEC & UET approval started with effect from Fall 2018.
Civil Engineering discipline has ever growing demand.
Civil Engineering provides a base that is necessary in
building skills and competence to design and implement
construction projects. The Civil Engineering (CE)
Department plans to produce quality Civil Engineers fully
capable of providing solutions to the challenging
problems. The engineers should also be pivotal for the
research activities. Civil Engineering Lab
The department puts forth the following educational objectives:-
To impart state-of-the-art knowledge to the students in the field of Civil Engineering and produce
competent civil engineers who will play vital role in the national development.

To provide critical learning for a broad function in various areas of Civil Engineering, including
structural, environmental, geotechnical, water resources, transportation engineering and construction
management.

To impress upon them the spirit of discipline, teach them the code of ethics of the engineering profession
and impress upon them to follow it during their practical life.

To prepare graduate engineers to be competitive in both national and international market by

inculcating the engineering and managerial skills.

Department of Electrical Engineering
B.Sc Electrical Engineering
(Electronics/Telecommunication)
Electrical Engineering is one of the core engineering
discipline. Due to rapid advancement in technology and
telecommunications the importance of specializations in
electrical engineering such as Power & Telecommunicat-
ion has grown manifolds. The curriculum for the bachelor
degree program is designed, keeping in view
recommendations of the Higher Education Commission
(HEC) and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), to
cover all essential areas.

PEC Evaluation/Inspection Team

The department puts forth the following educational objectives:-

To provide a solid foundation in electronics, power, mathematics, physics, social sciences, and
computer programming to ensure that the students do not feel handicap in engineering subjects.
To keep curriculum in line with national and international demands so that the graduate students
are ready to accept all possible challenges put forward to them in field positively.
To groom the students to become good law abiding human beings along with engineering education.
To inculcate a broad engineering core competence which should enable its students to communicate
and interact effectively with engineers in different areas of specialization and to make technology
decisions with confidence. This includes developing the ability to perform integrated problem solving
from problem identification to analysis, hypothesis testing and its solution.

Department of Computer Science
B.Sc Software Engineering
Software Engineering is the discipline of creating high-quality software environment in a systematic, controlled
and efficient manner, while maintaining it affordably. It involves the application of engineering concepts,
techniques, and methods to develop the software systems. A software engineering program develops
professionals who have a mastery of software development principles, theory, practice, and process. The goal of
Software Engineering is to use the science and technology already available to create products and tools for use.
The curriculum for the bachelor degree program covers all essentially needed areas, e.g., Software Engineering,
Computer Sciences and Software Quality and Testing while paying special attention towards Mathematics,
Physics and Communication Skills.
The Program curriculum ensures breadth across allied disciplines and supporting subjects; and depth in most
areas of the software engineering body of knowledge. The department puts forth the following educational
objectives for the students entering the Software Engineering program
The department puts forth the following educational objectives:-
Engineering Quintessence
Graduates will apply theoretical and practical knowledge of Software Engineering for analysis and design of
quality software systems of varying complexities. Abilities and skills of analytical thinking, logic formulation,
algorithm construction, complex designing, appropriate validation and economic maintenance will be inculcated.
They will also be prepared to successfully pursue higher studies.
Social Engagement
Graduates will be sensitive to environmental, professional, civic and societal contexts, committed to ethical
action, and engaged in life-long learning to remain effective members of their communities. They will be equipped
with the skills and attitudes to be responsible, effective and thoughtful contributors to society.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Graduates will apply their abilities, talents, and insights creatively and productively in fields and professions
beyond those explicitly represented in, or anticipated by, the Software Engineering curriculum. Graduates will
make their mark on the world in many ways: they will become entrepreneurs, academicians, technologists and
make creative contributions in engineering, science, and art.
