This invention relates to an apparatus and method

for accounting for carbon emissions. The invention
provides an apparatus and method for accounting for
carbon comprising the steps of: receiving an input to
select an account; receiving financial data relating to
said account; storing said financial data in a ledger; in
the event that the account is labelled as
requiring accounting for carbon, receiving carbon
usage data; and storing said carbon usage data in a
carbon ledger. The invention also provides an
apparatus and method for entering budget data for an
account; and displaying data in dependence upon
stored budget information and stored carbon usage
data.
 A system computer program and method is provided
for providing computer
implemented accounting services is provided. The
system includes an external cloud based computing
environment that is operable to provide access to one
or more subscribers to one or more computer
implemented accounting or bookkeeping services. The
cloud based computing environment being operable to
enable (A) the capture of financial information from
multiple sources including based on captured user
interactions relative to financial information capture
and/or business processes based on analysis of such
captured user interactions (B) the processing of the
financial information based on at least
one accounting utility to
provide accounting information or bookkeeping
information (C) store the accounting information for
access by the appropriate subscriber or subscriber
designee and (D) enable access to
the accounting information for accounting business
management and/or financial purposes on an on
demand basis via one or more permitted network
connected devices.
 A system, computer program and method is provided
for providing computer-
implemented accounting services is provided. The
system includes an external cloud based computing
environment that is operable to provide access to one
or more subscribers to one or more computer-
implemented accounting or bookkeeping services. The
cloud based computing environment being operable to
enable (A) the capture of financial information from

 Provided are an accounting system which performs
automatic journalizing with high accuracy and
an accounting method which utilizes
the accounting system. Provided is
an accounting system 1 provided with: a voucher input
unit 11 for extracting, from voucher image data, a
journal element including an amount and at least one
of a client and an abstract; and a journal determination
unit 12 for outputting journal data in which an account
title with respect to the journal element is selected.
The journal determination unit 12 is provided with: a
journalizing AI 121 for generating journal data on the
basis of the result of learning of correspondence
between the journal element and the account title by
machine learning; and a journalizing AI auxiliary
system 122 for generating journal data on the basis of
a set rule. In a case in which multiple account titles are
allowable in terms of bookkeeping, the accuracy of
journalizing, which has low reliability using the
journalizing AI 121, is increased by the journalizing AI
auxiliary system 122.
