Assessment Today was the first session that Zainab attended with her father only, before now she
has only attended with both her father and mother. She appeared to complete the
activities in the session with the similar level of focus as compared to previous sessions,
no noticeable differences with the absence of her mother.
Treatment In this session, Zainab played with fruit beads, balancing chairs, felt boards/items and
colouring pages.
Requests practiced
- object + please i.e. watermelon please
- "I want + (fruit) + and + (fruit) i.e. I want watermelon and banana
- currently the prompts are after every word
- Zainab will match the volume of the model presented to her, i.e. if it is whispered to her
she will whisper it back
- Zainab really enjoys role playing with toys, but upon request from parents this is to be
avoided in the sessions as Zainab tends to get distracted by this type of play and it has
been difficult to get her onto another activity. Because of this, toys of animate beings (i.e.
humans or animals, figurines) have been avoided. Even with these considerations
Zainab was role playing with two toy chairs today, making them talk to each other while
using a babbling voice.
