Swachh Baharat – the real

picture
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was launched on
2nd October 2014 and focused on the need
for a clean country. The expedition was
initiated keeping in mind the great Indian
leader mahatma Gandhi. The objective of
the mission had been to inspire people of
India to join hands in the welfare of the
country and it is led by our honorable prime
minister Mr. Narendra Modi. But friends it
has been now five years and I want to ask
everybody are we successful in this
initiative? What is the real picture? Why
not a single street is clean in our country?
Why dustbin is just a figure on paper? Why
broom is in hands not for cleaning but for
photo shoots? Why two lakhs people die
every year because of dirty water? Why
hospitals make you sick? Why 99.5% people
are inhaling polluted air? Why e-waste is
degrading the health of people? Why
railway station and bus station are most un
hygienic places and why flowers offered to
god became the cause of dirty rivers?
Truth is India is not clean and is also not
on the path to be a Swachh Bharath.
Actually, a country where hearts are not
Swachh, mentality is not Swachh and
system is not Swachh how the premises
could be…. how the county could be… We
people have tendency to blame others, to
expect everything from the central power.
A single person cannot bring swachhta to a
country of 123 crore people. If we look
into depth, we would find that for every
problem we, you, a common man is
responsible. We want our home clean but
not city. We have smart phones but not
smart sooch. We do not have etiquettes to
use public toilets. We consider the matter
of swachhta a serios one and we are the
ones who want everything perfect but do
not want to be the part of perfection. The
increasing number of people suffering from
dangerous diseases is all the symbol of a
swachhta in the country. We are living in a
democratic country. So Swachh Bharath
abhiyan would be successful only when it is
abhiyan of people by people and for people
but with the understanding that only
comments on facebook, tweeter, profile
pics with broom, road shows will not make
India clean. Our commitment, dedication,
seriousness will make India Swachh. Three
R’s: reuse, recycle and replenish will make
India Swachh. The future of our nation is
in our hands. So, let’s not waste our time
on blaming and claiming and aim to make
India an economic superpower, the
cleanest, the greenest nation in the world,
then of course Swachh Bharath Abhiyan will
not be a slogan only and become a real
perspective.
