EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
SPACE FUNCTION
1. Lobby and Triage Patient may arrive in a wheelchair/stretcher.
Patient may arrive on foot.
Transfer of patient to/from stretcher trolley or wheelchair to examining table
2. Nurse Station Nurse makes inquiries and records necessary information from ER
Nurse performs other medical monitoring activities
Performs diagnostic activities and administersmtreatment to patient

Surgical Ambulatory patient may arrive on foot
Patient may arrive on wheelchair
Patient is treated for minor injuries and illness
Transfer of patient from examining table
Patient is given initial treatment and brought to Operating Room
Medical Ambulatory patient may arrive on foot

OB-Gyn Ambulatory patient may arrive on foot
Use of diagnostic equipment
4. Respiratory Unit Patient is triaged and brought to the Respiratory Unit

Holding area of patient prior to admission or referral for laboratory tests
Collection of specimens by nasopharyngeal swab
Ambulatory patient may arrive
Patient may arrive on wheelchair/stretcher
5. Scrub-up/Sub-sterile Physician and nurses rinse arms and hand prior to surgical operation
Preparation of packed surgical instruments from cabinets
Storing and retrieving of instruments from cabinets
Minor sterilizing works.
Handwashing and other clean-up activities
6. Minor Operating Room Patient arrives on a stretcher trolley
Patient is transferred from a stretcher trolley to operating table
Clinical handwashing
Patient is surgically operated
7. Health Emergency Management Supply Storage of supplies for emergency preparedness and response unit
Distribution of said supplies
