EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
SPACE FUNCTION
1. Lobby and Triage Patient may arrive in a wheelchair/stretcher.
Patient may arrive on foot.
Transfer of patient to/from stretcher trolley or wheelchair to examining table

2. Nurse Station Nurse makes inquiries and records necessary information from ER
Nurse performs other medical monitoring activities
Performs diagnostic activities and administersmtreatment to patient

Surgical Ambulatory patient may arrive on foot

Patient is treated for minor injuries and illness
Transfer of patient from examining table
Patient is given initial treatment and brought to Operating Room
Medical Ambulatory patient may arrive on foot

5. Scrub-up/Sub-sterile Physician and nurses rinse arms and hand prior to surgical operation

6. Minor Operating Room Patient arrives on a stretcher trolley
