Tube rotation

15 Tube unit rotation

15.1 Opposition
Measuring instrument: spirit level
- Unit exactly in the C-position
- System "off/on"
- Swivel bracket exactly 0°
- Measure rotational position of the tube unit. Test
point: Sectional rails of collimator.
Requirement: 0° (+3 mm scattering of central beam in the
table-top plane)

Correction:

S/MEM F166 A2 EE

Note: Decrease of memory contents causes direction of

rotation headwards.
Only with complete disadjustment (change in direction of
rotation!) or after response of the safety switch:

o Swivel angel exactly 0°

o Unit in the +90° position
o Press EMERGENCY STOP
o Disengage drive am8
o Loosen both locking screws from the pinion (2).
Turn tube unit by hand, as required.

Tube rotation

o Turn tube unit exactly into the 0°-position. Force am8

into engagement and screw down so that a fastening screw
of the pinion (2) is accessible.

o Call in AD converter r8 and turn potentiometer axle of

r8 by screwdriver until the contents indicated in the
following has been reached. When continuing to turn
towards , the contents must decrease. The axle is
accessible through hole (1).

N/ADC 08 97 High Byte; rotational position 0°

Note: Contents "A2" exists 2x (change in direction of

rotation)

o Screw down accessible locking screw of pinion (2).

o Unlock EMERGENCY STOP.
o Move to 0° rotational position. Check in unit position
0°. Adjust, as required.

S/MEM F166 A2 EE

o Unit position +90°.

o Move to rotational position "180°". In doing so, watch
the pinion (2). When the second locking screw becomes
accessible, press EMERGENCY STOP. Tighten screw.

Tube rotation

- Move the unit from the 0°-position in the direction of

+90°. In doing so:
- Watch the behaviour of the tube unit rotating device in
each case.
Requirement: Due to any possible mechanical sag, the
rotational position is corrected once automatically in
the 0°-direction for the +30° unit position. Improve the
correction factor, if necessary.

Correction factor for unit position "Plus" ( ):

15.2 90°-position

Measuring instrument: Spirit level

- Swivel angle exactly 0°.
- Raise the unit as far as it will go.
- Call in 90° rotational position (table-side control
box) .
- Check 90° rotational position. Test point: Sectional
rails of collimator.
Requirement: 90° (+/-1°)

Correction:

S/MEM F162 CE EE
Note: Decrease of the memory contents causes decrease of
the angle.

Tube rotation

15-3 180° position

Measuring instrument: -
Prerequisite:
Exactly vertical position of the Bucky wall stand.
- Swivel angle exactly 0°.
- Raise the unit as far as it will go.
- SID = 115 cm.
- Call in 180° rotational position (table-side control
box).
- Light localizer (collimator) "on".
- Adjust central ray level and table top (cross) so that
they coincide.
- SID = 115 cm. At the same time:
- Watch the cross-wire center shift (light-localizer
collimator).

Correction "height":
S/MEM F160 70 EE

Note: Decrease of the memory contents will result in de-

crease of the angle.
Max. contents of F160: 81 (safety switch!).
After response of the safety switch, remove the
motor and turn away the tube unit by hand.

Correction "width":
o Displace the Bucky wall stand laterally.

15.4 Speed of rotation

- Raise the unit as far as it will go. )
- Call in 90° rotational position from the 0°-position. In
doing so: Watch the braking behaviour in the op-
position.
Requirement: The shift to a lower speed must be clearly
seen.
The set-point position should be slightly overtravelled.
Coming from the direction of 180°, the tube unit should
adjust in the desired position.
Correction:
o Adjustment instructions.

15.5 Functional test

- Unit approximately in Opposition.
- Activate 9 0 V 1 8 0 0 tube unit rotation (table-side control
box). No movement must take place.
- Raise the unit as far as it will go.
- Activate 90°/180° tube unit rotation (table-side control
box). The tube unit must rotate into the selected
position.
- Trigger radiation in the 90° rotational position.
Rotation must be possible irrespective of a cassette
being inserted or not.
- Activate oblique projection in the 90° rotational
position. Movement must be possible.
- Repeat the two last checks in the 180° rotational
position. 180° position is blocked if no Bucky wall
stand is provided (see F1E5). Radiation must be
possible, oblique projection impossible!

- Activate tilt in the 90°/l80° rotational position. In

the Opposition, automatic tube unit rotation must take
place. 180° position blocked, if no Bucky wall stand is
provided (see F1E5).
