Personal Letter
 A type of letter (or informal composition) that usually concerns personal matters
(rather than professional concerns) and is sent from one individual to another. The
main different between personal letter and another letter is the contain of the letter.
 The purpose about the personal letter is to convey personal opinion or interest.
 Generic Structure of personal Letter are:
1) Place and Date: It tells about the specific time the letter is written
2) Recipient Address: It contains the complete postal address of the receiver of the
message
3) Greeting: An interaction that is used to open the conversation of the letter
4) Contents: Several paragraphs collaborate the aim of the letter
5) Writer’s Hope: It states what the writer wishes for that the receiver of the message
would do
6) Closing: A signature from the writer and the proper closing statement.
 Although the tone of your letter is informal, please do not use offensive language, use
grammatically correct sentences

2. Invitation
 A spoken or written request to somebody to do something or to go somewhere.
 The purpose of invitation is to invite someone attend/come an event.
 Generic structure of Invitation, are:
1) Receiver
2) Body of invitation
3) Subject/Event
4) Day or Date of the event
5) Time of the event
6) Place of the event
7) Sender

3. Announcement
 A written or spoken statement in public or formal words containing information about
an event that has happened or is going to happen so publicly people know what,
when, and where it is about.
 The purpose of an announcement is to give people or readers about some information
of what has happened or what will happen.
 Generic Structure of Announcement
1) Stating Purpose: the text that contains what event will be held
2) Stating Day and Date: the text that contains when the event will be held
3) Stating Place: the text that contains where the event will be held
4) Informing Sender: the text that contains name of the person who will be contacted

4. Advertisement
 A text that has the purpose to announce a something that appeals to many people and
to be a famous-added product in all the public in the form of a means of
communication with the users of the product or service.
 Advertisement is always present, even though people may not be aware of it. An
advertisement uses any media that may be to pass the message. It is through some
media such as television, newspapers, magazines, radio, internet, direct sales, posters,
sound, visuals and even people (endorsements).
 The purposes of the advertisement are: to urge the listener or reader to buy or use the
product or services being advertised, to announce about a product, services, or an
event to the public, to convince of communication about a product, services, or an
event so that the user effort to use the product or services.
 Generic Structure of Advertisement
1) Purpose: purpose built of the advertisement.
2) Name of product: product names in advertising.
3) User: user of the product.
 Kinds of Advertisement
1) Printed Advertisement. Printed advertisement is an advertisement that it is
published by using printed media, such as newspaper, magazine or others.
2) Advertorial. Advertorial is an advertisement formed as news.

4) Display Advertisement is an advertisement in which it is displayed in an image or
big letters.
5) Electronic Advertisement
6) Electronic Advertisement is an advertisement published using electronic media,
such as, radio advertisement, television advertisement, internet advertisement, etc.
 Language Features of Advertisement
1) The choice of words used related to necessary information.
2) The choice of words used to indicate the target
3) The choice of words used is precise, logical, and courteous.
4) The choice of words used have a suggestion for the audience.
