Request of Acceptance in the Culinary Arts Bachelor Program

Gordon Rule Assignment #2

Introduction

I. Good evening members of the admissions committee. My name is Maximo

Rodriguez and I am seeking to be admitted into the bachelor’s program of supply

chain management. Supply chain managers are not supporting long term ecological

balance by not using biodegradable customer package distribution of goods which

would avoid polluting the marine ecosystem and the freshwater ecosystem. Director

of Business Development Christopher Lee in the website Warehouse Anywhere:

How to Create A Sustainable & Green Supply Chain published on July 2019; agrees

with supply chain being negative towards ecology by saying, “The impact of the

supply chain on the environment is primarily negative. According to a report from

the McKinsey Institute, over 90 percent of the environmental damage caused by

companies that package consumer goods (CPG) comes from their supply chains.”

This issue affects me as a supply chain leader of the future because it is important to

not harm the environment nor deplete natural resources.

II. Today’s planet faces natural resource problems, especially, improving the

sustainability of companies which affects communities. This issue could be

improved by incorporating biodegradable practices.

III. Supply chain managers should support exporters and importers that promote

overall ecological sustainability, because it will reduce miles, production costs, and

product waste. In the long run not only will it be more affordable but will also

impact the planet positively. Companies with sustainable initiatives will guide

suppliers to pinpoint sources of pollution, which will lead to discovering new

protective measures. These measures would also encourage suppliers to use cleaner

and more cost-efficient means of production to halt pollution and extend the

responsibility within the supply chain.

IV. Allow me to share the prominent practical guides that should be imposed for

companies to follow and extend the responsibilities throughout the supply chain.

V. As a supply chain leader of tomorrow that is passionate about eyewear and

the logistics behind productions of industrialized products. Supply chain managers

should join with eco-friendly companies that will ensure biodegradable alternatives

to the polymers currently used in 3D printing materials, transportation of goods, and

many more activities. Thus, making 3D printed frames for eyewear will become

biodegradable, mileages will be reduced as well as costs but most importantly we

would be promoting the planet’s overall well-being.
