My name is OH XIAN BIAO, a third (3rd) year Chemical Engineering (Hons) undergraduate
from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Bandar Seri Iskandar, 31750 Perak, Malaysia. As
per requirement of UTP, I have to undergo eight (8) months of Student Industrial Training (SIT)
(7 credit hours) and Student Industrial Project (SIP) (7 credit hours) from January 2019 to
August 2019. A copy of the training notification letter from UTP is attached herewith for your
perusal.

I am hugely interested in working for your Company, an internationally recognised

organisation which specialises in manufacturing high quality advanced materials to cater for
various applications in the market. I strongly believe than an internship/attachment with your
organisation will offer invaluable insights; general work place exposure; practical and
professional skills in the age of Industry 4.0; best work practices and standards in the world of
engineering.

In addition, I am also keen in understanding and learning the fundamentals, methodology and
high-performance culture that have made your organisation a very successful one. The
knowledge acquired will certainly be a great addition to my overall skillset where I could use
them to my own advantage for future career development opportunities.

Over the last three years of my studies in UTP, I have acquired skills such as process simulation,
laboratory skills, HSE analysis and analytical thinking. These skills have helped me to assist
my team in designing and assembling portable water filters for the I-Qua Project 2019, an
award-winning university community outreach program by applying knowledge attained from
my coursework which include Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Chemical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering Lab, Health Safety and Environment and Transport Phenomena.

My participation in the I-Qua Project 2019 which donated portable water filters to an
indigenous village in Kampung Jong, Perak has shaped me into an individual who is self-
motivated, disciplined, result driven and acknowledges the significance of teamwork.
Moreover, my volunteering experience in the 2018 Para Sukma Games for the Sarawak Para
Table Tennis Team has enlightened me with the importance of being proactive in the work that
I do and to always give back to the community. I believe that your organisation can highly
relate to the qualities mentioned above. Thus, I am confident that I can be an asset to your
company.
