Book Insights

This is the second book that I read from Nicholas Sparks. I I believe that his novels
come in short-length books which is a great thing for beginner readers. They don’t
overwhelm you with the length and with the complexity of  words used. I think the target
population is teenage girls, ones who are still new to the world of love and is not as
skeptical as the adult ones. But these books are also for the romanticists at heart.

The Notebook’s approach in telling Noah and Allie’s love story is great. From the past to
the present and alternately, he gives a pleasant surprise in every scene of the story. My
favorite scene was the time when Allie left Noah, after Allie’s mother came to warn her
about Lon. I was moved by the sincerity of each characters. It’s as if I can feel Noah’s
pain and Allie’s hesitation. Another scene that I loved is Lon and Allie’s confrontation. I
can feel all their feelings. Im literally drowning in feels.

Personal Reflection
Love that grows and ages. Growing up, I had too much of naivety in me that I thought
love lasts forever. I thought that love will not give you pain, that love will not hurt. Most
of the time, this expectations will give you frustrations and feelings of disappointment.
However, the good days will still outweigh the bad days, especially if both of you are
working together in growing your love and helping each other be the best of what each
can be.

I am a sucker for romance that never ends. I believe in love that can conquer
everything, no matter the pain, the trials. I believe that all of us deserves someone who
will love every bits of us, from top to bottom. No matter how ugly you think you are, he
will always see you as the most beautiful girl in the world.

They said Love is blind. But the truth is, love sees everything. It’s just that love makes
you brave and courageous that you are able to accept another person fully, completely.

The Notebook reminded me that in this cynical, skeptical , practical world, love is still
the greatest treasure and gift that one can have.
