Effective leadership is a kind of art, researches have always stated that situational factors

shape a leader and such factors consist of personal qualities, task nature, need and impact of the

environment along with the information available to that very individual. These factors shape a

person to become a leader or to attain leadership qualities. To understand this concept of

leadership it is significant to determine the kinds of quality and behavior one needs to have to

make a change. The role of personality, manner of task and approach towards a particular task is

the foundation of leadership. It is the effort of the full team to bring successful products to the

market. Designers are the one responsible for usability or other related factors that becomes the

contribution towards success or failure of the product development. The ability of leadership

assures that all are focused and concentrated on the most valuable utilization of time that is an

essential part of the excellent performance of the organization. The process of effective

leadership is not very simple. It is important to know all the influential management to have

success. The leader I selected is Catherine Livingstone who is a leading executive of a

technology-based enterprise. The leader is a passionate believer in science and technology who

look towards the betterment in the future development of the country. This leader champions the

technology that drives any organization where she is a part of the team as a leader. Leadership

has a crucial role in organizational success. The roles are associated with the functions of the

leader’s management. The leaders must set their goals for the organization and motivate others

too for bringing a change, make plans for success. Leaders must be flexible and should retain

their convictions to focus on the target or vision. It is only by a conviction how leaders inspire

others to desire and make a change. Such a leader becomes an inspiration to make a change;

charisma and vision are the sources of how leaders can make changes. History always talked

about leaders who initiated ideas and then the idea widened and people continued to make their

contributions small to impactful. Not every person can be a leader. To measure the effectiveness

of leadership one has to focus on how much detailed the leader is about their organization and

vision. Innovative power is one of the crucial aspects of leadership quality and by innovative it

means creative thinking. The person who has a base of innovation is always beneficial to the

organization. An organization needs innovative people who not only contribute to their

workplace as duty but also to make a change. Organizations are rapidly realizing a fact that

among various factors contributing and affecting to its smooth functioning, human factor is of

paramount importance. Irrespective of size and nature of the organisation, the business

transactions it chooses to undertake, the external environment which the organization is

operating in, the rate of its success heavily depends upon the behavior of its employees and the

decision they make at the workplace keeping in mind the long term goals of the organization.

Managers at different levels have realised the importance and contribution made by human

resources of the organizations in addition to the competitive advantage an organization has over

its rivals by manufacturing and offering the most creative product, adopting the world class

marking strategy etc. Organizations are realizing the need for change in vision and the

importance of long-term and short term solutions. The team of leader gets associated with certain

programs for meeting the organizational business needs. These also impact the business direction

and also face new and increased challenges and responsibilities. For making an effective sense of

unfamiliar condition and complex challenges, one should have a grasp of the full situation

consisting of variables, unknowns, and mysterious forces. This needs skills apart from the

everyday analysis. This thought process can be referred to as innovative leadership. The

leadership quality must maintain positive attitude and have clear goals for tomorrow other than

focusing on the issues of past. Challenge in work is a very significant aspect of employee
