We’re glad that you’re starting your language studies with Speakly!
Here are some tips you should consider to make sure your course is
effective and successful:
1. Practice with Speakly every day. Small steps lead to great results—if
your daily goal is 5 words, you will learn 150 new words in a month;
if your daily goal is 15 words, you will learn 450 new words in a
month; if your daily goal is 30 words, you will learn 900 new words
in a month.
You can also play the listening exercise in the background when you are
doing other things (e.g., driving, walking, doing chores, standing in line at a
store, etc.). The purpose of the listening exercise is to create a language
environment in your life that will help you get used to the nuances of the
language and help you learn the language more easily. It is for these
reasons that it is important not to change your listening exercise more
often than every 5 days and to listen to one exercise consistently.
3. Create your own list of sentences based on those found on Speakly and
in the LIVE© language class. Practice these phrases every day.
This daily imitation of the foreign language is one of the most important
elements of learning. Practice saying sentences out loud even if you are
already fluent in the language.
Repeating the correct pronunciation will help you achieve authentic
pronunciation in a foreign language, turn passive language skills into active
skills, and make communication freer and more fluent. When learning,
never focus on learning pronunciation rules, but on mimicking real,
corrected sentences. Our experience clearly shows that those who use our
methodology will start to articulate authentic speech in about a month.
The acquisition of language as a whole is much faster and more natural if it
is not done through simplified rules.
If you are an auditory learner, close your eyes each time you repeat a
sentence aloud.
If you are a kinesthetic learner, make sure to have a cup of hot coffee or
tea, chocolate, or something else that you enjoy at hand. Repeat
sentences, for example, while sitting at the kitchen table, because in your
memory, the kitchen environment is associated with pleasant emotions
and tastes. Do not repeat sentences for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Take a break every 15 minutes to eat something tasty.
6. If you are learning a new verb form, see if you can form other
inflections and tenses of the same verb by yourself. If necessary,
repeat the verb inflections and tenses each time you encounter a
verb.
7.By learning a little every day, you will achieve better results than by
learning a larger volume fewer times per week . Make time to study . If
necessary, dedicate a set amount of time for daily studies.
10. Find ways to use the language on a daily basis. Speak the
language as often as possible with foreigners, colleagues, or
enthusiastic friends. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. By
making and learning from mistakes, your language skills will
develop faster than if you were to try to avoid mistakes at all costs.
However, if you’re still reluctant to speak for the fear of making
mistakes, remember how happy and supportive you are when a
foreigner speaks your language.
