Q7. a) Derive an equation for Acceleration in Polar Coordinates and identify different terms. [3]
b) Explain what is coriolis force with an example. [2]
Q8. Obtain the equation of motion of Simple Harmonic Oscillator (SHO) and derive an equation
for time dependent position x(t) of the mass (Fig. 1a). [5]
Q9. The force experienced by an object in a viscous medium is given by F = -C V, where C is a
constant depends on fluid and geometry of the body. Obtain en expression for the veolocity
of the object in the liquid and show it on neat plot. [5]
Q10. Calculate the centre of mass of uniform semicircular disc of radius R (Fig. 1b). [5]

Q11. A ball of mass 8 kg moving with velocity 4 m/s impinges on a ball of mass 4 kg moving with
velocity 2 m/s. If their velocities before impact be inclined at an angles 300 and 600 to the
line joining their centres at the moment of impact. If the co-efficientof restitution e = 0.5,
find their velocities after impact. [5]
