I am Md. Nahid Hasan Ashik.

I am doing my major in Marketing at Independent University,


Bangladesh. This is my 6th semester in IUB, side by side I am doing part-time job as SOD at
BBA Program office.

As I am doing my major in Marketing, service marketing is mandatory for me to do. I took this
course not only mandatory but also for learning about service sectors. It is a special branch of
Marketing. So, I must know about this course. At the very beginning of the semester my
expectation was to get a good result from this course. While doing this course my expectation is
slightly changed. Now I must learn a lot from this course. If I do not learn properly, I will not do
good in my service career. One day I was scrolling Facebook. I got some review about this
course. Someone said this course is very tough. You will not get a good grade from this course. I
frightened at that time but doing this course I am learning many new things. I have not known
about the topics before. In the first chapter I have learned about service, categories of service,
characteristics of services. Then I learned how a product or service can be evaluated. Before
doing this course, I have done other 2 courses of marketing. I knew that there are 4p’s of
marketing but in this course, I have another 3P’s of marketing. Then I have learned about the
Gap model of service quality. I knew there are some gaps in the service, but I did not know in
detail. To run a service, they must reduce the gaps. If they do not reduce the gaps, they will lose
their customer. For giving a service you must satisfy your customer. Every customer has some
expectations from the service. They have an expectation range. if the service goes below the
expectation, the customers will not tolerate it. Then to give a service the provider must know
about the perception of the customer. Customer perception is also very important in-service
marketing because it is related with customers satisfaction. We all know that nobody can give
full satisfaction to the customer. Sometimes they could not reach the level in that time service
provider take some steps to recover their lacking. Though we are doing online semester due to
COVID-19 pandemic, but our respective teachers are trying their level best during lecture. If we
face any problem regarding course, he takes tutorial class to clarify our problems. He is taking
our class very friendly that helps all student to understand properly and students do not feel
hesitate to ask any question related to topics. I am also trying to perform my level best to learn
properly and obviously it will help to get a good grade.
So, at last I can say that this course helpful to every marketing students. If we can find any
problem in service sector, we can recover the gaps smoothly. And I am truly grateful to my
faculty that I can understand the topics properly. Hopefully, I will do better in upcoming future.
