Hey! I’ve got an invitation to the dinner party at Susan’s this Saturday.

嗨！我收到这周六苏珊家晚餐派对的邀请了了。

Yes, should I bring anything?

嗯，我该带什什么去吗？

You should bring a gift for the host. A bottle of wine, a box of chocolate or some
flowers will do.

你该为主⼈人带⼀一件礼物。⼀一瓶红酒，⼀一盒巧克⼒力力或者⼀一些花都可以。

I think I’ll bring chocolates. What should I wear?

我想我会带些巧克⼒力力。我该穿什什么呢？

There isn’t a dress code on the invitation, so I guess there is no need to be formal,
just make sure you are not underdressed.

邀请函上没写明着装要求，所以我想不不⽤用太正式吧，别太随意就是了了。

Cool. Anything I should pay attention to during the dinner?

好的。晚餐期间有什什么要注意的吗？

Yes, remember to unfold your napkin and place it on your knee. And if there are
several cutlery sets, start at the outside and work your way in.

嗯，记得把餐⼱巾打开铺在膝盖上。还有如果有好⼏几副⼑刀叉的话，从最外⾯面的⼀一副开始
往⾥里里取⽤用。

Good to know! I’m not used to western table manners, I’m afraid I’ll make
mistakes.

好嘞！我不不太习惯⻄西餐礼仪，就怕闹笑话。

Don’t blow on the food, let it cool down naturally if it’s too hot. Do not chew with
your mouth open either. Oh and DO NOT forgot to compliment the food.

有千万别忘了了称赞下⻝⾷食物。
