PEMBAHASAN
Pada praktikum kali ini yang berjudul Viskositas. Viskositas adalah ukuran resistensi
zat cair untuk mengalir. Semakin besar resistensi suatu zat cair untuk mengalir semakin besar
pula viskositasnya. Menentukan viskositas suatu cairan dengan menggunakan alat viscometer
stromer dan pada alat ini dilengkapi dengan bandul beban yang memiliki ukuran berbeda-
beda.
Pertama yang dilakukan adalah mencari viskositas dari sampel minyak zaitun (olive
oil). Masukkan minyak zaitun pada mangkuk yang terdapat pada alat, lalu pada beban
pemutar diberi beban sebesar 50 gram sampai 70 gram. Lihat berapa waktu yang diperlukan
pada masing masing beban untuk mencapai 50 kali putaran. Kumpulkan data yang didapat
pada setiap beban. Lalu mulai menghitung Kv (konstanta alat) dari minyak zaitun, dan hasil
yang didapat yaitu 0,8014. Dari Kv yang didapat bisa digunakan untuk mencari viskositas.
Yang kedua adalah mencari viskositas dari sampel PGA 40%. Sebelumnya harus
mengumpulkan data seperti mencari data minyak zaitun. Cara yang dilakukan sama dengan
minyak zaitun tetapi berat beban yang digunakan adalah 30 gram sampai 60 gram. Setelah
data terkumpul bisa mulai menghitung viskositas dari PGA 40%. Viskositas yang diperoleh
untuk PGA 40% adalah 0,365 Cps.
