KNOWLEDGE APPLY

1. Investigate about features of oral and written text

2. Write an example with each text

3. What is the difference between the oral text and the written text?

SOLUTION

1.

Oral text is the most natural form of communication. Writing is a code, you don't learn
spontaneously. Oral text is usually less subject to rules and therefore its structure is less
complex. The writing is part of a schematic and is usually more elaborate.

Writing, on the other hand, uses graphic matter, requires a visual or tactile channel. Oral
texts are conducive to developing social interaction. Writing and permanence makes it
ideal for recording facts.

2.

Oral: The storytelling of a story.

Writing: Newspaper, E-mails

3. Oral text is usually less subject to rules and therefore its structure is less complex.
While the written text has greater planning because there is no immediate receipt, and
therefore the sender and receiver have more time to encode the message one and the
other to interpret it.
