Discussion
You have learned in the previous lessons about the different speech contexts,
speech styles, speech acts and communicative strategies. Why do we need to know
all of these?
We need to know the nature of the speech so that we will know what style and
act are used in communicating with others. We can choose the best words to say in
applying the communicative strategies. Whenever there is a shift on any of these,
the language form, duration of interaction, relationship of speaker, role and
responsibilities of the speaker, message and delivery are affected. Therefore, all of
these can affect how we approach others, what we say, and how long we speak with
others.
Language learners need to acquire both the functions and the forms that
make up English Language in order to reach higher level of proficiency.

to produce these indispensable learning kits used for the implementation of learning
delivery modalities.
Finally, the parents and other home learning facilitators for giving the learners
the needed guidance and support for them to possibly accomplish the tasks and for
gradually helping them become independent learners.
