First two lines: Rahim compares the bond of love with that of a thread which should never be broken

straight away but should be preserved because once a thread breaks it cannot be put together again, even if
done so there is always a knot formed. Likewise, once your relationship with someone is diminished there is no
such feeling that was present before.
Next two lines: Do not share your feelings with others, one should keep his/her pain hidden. When someone
does, people only make fun of it. They aren’t ready to console or share others pain.

There is a need of only one task to be done at a time, many other tasks are done automatically with the
completion of a single task. Rahim compares his saying to that of growth of fruits and flowers from a seed by
merely just planting the seed and watering it.
Rahim says about the exile of lord ram for 14 years he spent in a dense forest like ‘Chitrakoot’. According to
him only the one with such a disaster or conflict can survive in this dense forest. If not no one would be willing
to live in such a forest.

The verses of ‘Doha” is such that there are a very few letters but there is always a strong meaning hidden in
them.
The droplets of water found on leaves is favoured as it quenches the thirst of many small insects and creatures
despite the vast amount of salty water in huge and enormous oceans is of no use as it can’t quench anyobody’s
thirst.

The deer is pleased with the rhythm of music and is ready to sacrifice itself to the hunter. Besides, when
people are grateful to the love of others they are ready to offer their vantage and intimacy to them. In contrast,
some people are regarded worse than animals who take a lot from others and give nothing in return.
A person ought to think and understand before speaking out something, once it worsens it can’t be fixed despite
a million tries. Rahim conveys this message by giving an example of ‘spoilt milk’. When once milk is spoilt it
can’t be made into butter despite churning it a lot of times.

रहिमन दे खि बड़ेन को, लघु न दीजिये डारर।

ििााँ काम आवे सई
ु , किा करे तरवारर॥

One should not ignore a small thing by looking at something big, because where the samll things comes of use
the bigger one becomes useless. A sword of nothing to do in place of a needle.

रहिमन ननि संपनत बबन, कौ न बबपनत सिाय।

बबनु पानी ज्यों िलि को, नहिं रवव सके बचाय॥

When there is a crisis, the personal wealth and enterprise of his own comes of help. For example, the glint of
sun cannot protect a lotus without the help of water. Lack of water will cause the lotus to fade or dry out.

रहिमन पानी राखिए, बबनु पानी सब सून।

पानी गए न ऊबरै , मोती, मानुष, चून॥

Rahim says that water is the most predominant part of our life. If water is exhausted then neither ‘pearl’ or
‘man’ has significance. A pearlt without it’s shine is worthless. Similarly a person’s life is meaningless without
self respect.
